What is the purpose of the child being born in the US?????

Thousands of Mainland Chinese and Taiwanese women come to the US and Canada to deliver anchor babies. There is a whole industry behind it, from coaching ladies how to secure visa and entry to envading bills.

Reminded me of one Taiwanese woman who already had two babies in America and coming here for the third and then went to labour whilst in the air, refused to give birth until plane entered alasaka airspace.

No one answered your question am sorry for that and I don't have 100 percent answers for you.

The US LEGALLY ALLOWS THIS.

Its expensive but for sure you are okay with that as you know what you are doing.

While dating and the awaiting for CR1 papers.  I have travelled in and out of the US at least 15 times on long haul flights via diff airlines and countries -every flight had anchor babies flying back home.

Dear original poster wait for a bit longer you will get you answers.

person is asking if she can come on tourist visa as he asks what state and hospital to go to

means she is not here (at least to me that is what i read)

so, all of us are answering about the cost and problems from doing this

from the problem of traveling as pregnant woman to cost

these are all good and honest answers

and we are not offending but advising as to issues

please understand, we really are here to help but what u suggest is a poor idea

you do not mention if you, yourself, are a USC,  if so, don't worry your child will be a USC

Hi, my wife have a tourist visa and she wants to go and give birth in the u s. Do we need to pay the medical bills before she travel's or when she gets there? Any idea on hospital/state with best prices for delivery? Thanks

Plenty of good advice given here already. Just to add:

1. No guarantee that the CBP will alllow your pregnant wife to enter at port of entry. So, even though she has a tourist visa, doesn't mean it automatically allows her entry. Gotta pass this part first.

2. If she is allowed in, medical bills will need to be paid for AFTER because depending on the birthing situation, will determine cost (i.e. if C-section is needed, if complications arise and baby needs to be in NICU, etc. will significantly raise the price).

3. Each state/hospital has variables in their pricing. I gave birth in Virginia (one of the best hospitals-Inova Fairfax Hospital), my whole pregnancy was normal until I went into labor then had to have an emergency C-Section. Cost was about $40,000 (but we have insurance so we had to pay our out of pocket only).

There ya go.  'Merica has spoken and the official position is - please bring wads of $100 bills with you when you land.

Advice from experience:  Schedule about an hour in post-landing time-out to explain them

Why your wife can not give birth in her country and then you go there to be at birth? The baby does not need to be born in U.S to be an US citizen. If you are willing to risk that she is denied entry and sent back, then do it. How advanced she is in her pregnancy?

Being pregnant already raises the risk of blood clots. Please don't make her fly all the way to the US, to then possibly be denied and have to fly alllll the way back again. It's just not good for her.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

This baffles me; why would you want to go through all the hassle just to get you child US citizen ship? Especially if you are from a wealthy family,  I can understand it from the point of view of a person who wants a better life for their kids. But djeezs, it's not the ticket to heaven....

I think America should put an end to this strange right, I don't know any country that automatically grants you citizenship just because you're are born there.

The strangest thing I read was about a Western European lady who deliberately planned a trip to New York at the end of her pregnancy ( 7/8 months) and was hoping she would give birth in America. It didn't happen and afterwards she acknowledged that it was a weird action from her end.

Look up jus soli and jus sanguinis - it is quite common to get the citizenship of the place you are born.  If you wan to know more about how valuable a "Western" citizenship can be, you can look at all the articles on Chinese birth tourism.

How far along is she?  CBP may not like the idea of her birthing in the US and will deny her entry.  Or if she is too far along the airline won't let her fly.

I was in secondly once and saw a pregnant lady denied entry because the CBP said she had immigrant intent

Good luck

Also saw this before. Chances are that they will deny you at the point of entry if your intent is for immigration purposes and if you can't prove that you are able to pay the medical expenses.
