I found a forum for December filers but it's not very active.  I also found one for K1 and AOS.  I had a few questions as well and people were helpful.  Let me know if you have any questions as you do it.  I'm nowhere near an expert, but maybe you have some of the same questions we did

I completely understand. If you have the funds and it gives her comfort, absolutely.

The questions we have on the I-485 are Part 1 question 22A, 23C and 24.  For Part 2 question 2. The rest was just tedious.

When you get to the Embassy stage, it is Embassy specific.  My suggestion would be to go to the India portal and talk to some of the people that have already gone thru it there.  The Philippines did not ask for anything other than the divorce decree and that was with USCIS.

i know this question will be the past for many of you, but i figure i will definitely get a good answer. When the NVC eventually receives my packet, will they email me? or will i just find our from calling ?

I think we put K1 for each of those.  I'll have to double check.... I think that was something I inquired about in another forum because it's the same answer each time.

Regarding the question about NVC emailing you, or not, they seem to be pretty inconsistent about the way they work. Some people got an email (supposedly that works if your case is electronic) and normally you'll get a letter in the mail (our case). However, it's my understanding that both things are send away the same day your package leaves NVC and is sent to the Embassy... so calling to get your number is always a good option if you want to try and speed things up.

 

@Keith & Monica: lovely pictures of POE and wedding. Glad you are finally together and happy 

Regarding your AOS questions...

 

Part 1 question 22A: Nonimmigrant Visa Holder

23C: Fiance Visa Holder (or K1 Visa Holder, but my PDF version didn't allow numbers)

24: Blank, since the status didn't change

 

Part 2 question 2: NO

Thank you for your answering.  @Estibaliz, you always have the correct answers.  Yes, I had the same problem with it not accepting numbers.  That was why we had a question.  How are things going for you?  Did you already file your AOS?

I have things ready, just have to finish printing the forms and put everything together. I didn't do that yet because we are moving on Saturday and I'm using the new address in all the forms and address history, so the plan is sending the package out on Monday.

I am going to do my best to get it sent out this month.  Mostly have the I-485 ready to go, need to finish up the other forms and gather the info and print things out.

Everything is pretty straightforward with this part, not as much work as the K1 by far. Just a matter of gathering things and putting them together, so I'm sure you'll make it this month.

Yes it is pretty straightforward, just tedious to answer all those questions.  Good luck to the two of you as well.

ChinaSandeep sorry to hear you are having the same problem. Have you heard about your case yet? Recently I got an email from NVC Research team saying my case is on the way. And I was really excited but today I got an email from CSC USCIS officer saying "We acknowledge your concern regarding the transfer of your petition to the NVC. Currently, we are experiencing a delay with file transfers to the NVC. Your petition will be forwarded to the NVC as soon as possible. We acknowledge your concern regarding the timeliness of your petition’s file transfer and are doing everything possible to forward cases to the NVC in a timely manner." How the hell they have a delay for certain cases only. I don't know what to do at this point. I still have not contacted my congressman. I actually don't know how to do that. Can you share your experience on how you contacted your congressmen. Thank you, wish you all the best.
