Hi everyone

september filer joining in.

I was going to silently follow unless I have anything to add to help anyone. But as I can't let my company know I'm leaving I can't even post on fb about this... well it is frustrating for everyone. I feel sad for people who had to wait for almost 200 days already. Sad for everyone who's going through with a new travel ban country.

so I wanted to give input about traveling on a B2 visa while petitioning -

we filed on september 11th and the next day my fiancé got sick to a level that he was admitted to a hospital. As I had a ticket for Christmas time to spend with the family. I wasn't going to go. However I flew on 15th which is also the date of our NOA1. Got everything in hand because I was already getting ready for a strict POE. From my lease to my company letter of my. Emergency leave for a week.

I entered from LAX flying fro Tokyo I'm Turkish)

the officier just just looked at me and asked how many days and what's the purpose. Puffy eyes and fiancé in the hospital obviously was enough.

Now we put on our petition my last I-94 date which was all the way in May. I hope it won't be a problem when they realize I actually had to visit after and have a new last entry...scary seriously...

If I get any updates I'll try to inform you and write to the appropriate post in this forum about entry while petition is pending.

I hope this time for everyone will get faster than we are thinking right now.

Very exciting time, tempered with the lengthy wait. Thanks for your well- wishes, the same to you as well!

so whoever already got NOA1 in the mail - did your status on the uscis website change yet?

We still have "....and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by October 8, 2017, please call Customer Service..."

The receipt doesn't state what our next steps are at all? Or do I just not understand it properly?

I just wonder when this will change....?

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024

It won't change until you are either approved or sent a RFE. :)

Thanks @Salty2305 for the quick reply.

Also, to be pro-active. Did anyone start filling out the forms such as DS-160, I-134, I-864 or DS-260 yet?

Or does it not make any sense to prepare?

It think the DS160 form has an expiry date so I would wait until you have your NOA2 for that.

For the K1 Visa, you complete the DS160 and the I-134, you don't need to worry about the other 2. Again for the I-134, they are asking for financial information and so it make sense to wait until closer to your NOA2 date to complete.

I think it’s because Igors list goes by NOA1 date and Shoegum’s data is by received date

Therefore Igors list might include a May NOA1 but an April received date?

Exactly

I started working on my I-134 already, certainly to become familiar with it.  I'm afraid to work too much ahead, concerned that I gather the financial stuff *now* then have it said that they need more recent stuff since the interview, where it's needed, is likely 4-5 months from now.

I definitely wanted to be aware of what they wanted, though, so I could start getting a handle on it and identify anything that looked like a problem to get.  Like the bank letter (but mine provided to me in a few days).  Like divorce decrees (got 'em).  They said a copy of a recent USA tax return is needed, our timing may be that they want the 2017 tax return, so be sure to file early.

It definitely makes sense to familiarise yourself with the next set of documents you need to prepare right now. The best things I can advise you do now is:

  • Make sure your partners vaccines are up to date
  • Check their embassy website for the documents you need to have for the interview
  • Anyone in the Philippines should familiarise themselves with the CFO seminar as your partner cannot leave the country without attending this
  • Make sure you have access to W2s, bank letters/statements, pay stubs, employment letter etc.

Once you get your NOA2, things move really quickly so try to prepare yourselves for that as much as possible :)
