Deaths confirmed after Manchester Arena blast reports

Several people have been killed after explosions were heard inside Manchester Arena at the end of a teen concert tonight.

Video footage showed people fleeing in tears from the venue after bangs rang out immediately after the Ariana Grande concert finished.

Bloodied concertgoers were pictured being helped by emergency services outside the gig and armed police were seen patrolling the arena.  

 

Evie Brewster, who attended the concert, told MailOnline: 'Ariana Grange had just finished her last song and left the stage when a huge explosion sounded.

'Suddenly everybody started screaming and running for the exit.

The North West Counter Terrorism Unit is treating the incident in Manchester as a possible terrorist incident, sources said.

Senior national Counter-Terrorism officers are assembling in London and are liaising with the Home Office.

Early estimates put the number of fatalities in double figures, but these are very early stages.

The news is already trying to spin it saying a speaker exploded.... But the the explosion was in the foyer area from what I have been reading so that does not make sense.

Who spun that exactly? CNN was slow to getting to it this evening but they've not said anything about that. Some of the kids inside thought that the noise was a malfunction until the panic and stampede. Sources online saying it was a nail bomb, and the scene is very gruesome indeed. A large number of children are separated from their parents at a hotel. Most of the dead are very young. Unconfirmed reports of a gunman at a hospital?

I saw it a few places a couple hours ago. Yeah I heard about the explosion on fb at a Britain First page, then I immediately went to CNN... There were still talking about Trump and the accusations like what the **** over.

The place I lived before emigrating where my son, family and friends live. Just wanted to say disgusted, outraged, heart broken.  Those poor teenagers the poor families! May the perpetrator, perpetrators ROT IN HELL. These teens/children only wanted innocent fun to see their pop idol in concert. What did they do wrong? Senseless, barbaric, cowardly act!!  Feeling very very sad!!

I have been watching some live feeds earlier while I was at my son's karate. The live feed I was looking at was Sky News, honestly I like them because I used to watch them alot while I was in Afghanistan. 

 

 I just hate how some sites were automatically trying to downplay it before the complete news came in.

The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the Manchester suicide bombing that killed 22 people - including children - in an explosion that tore through fans leaving an Ariana Grande pop concert in Manchester.

As the first arrest was made in connection with the attack, Prime Minister Theresa May disclosed that the authorities believe they know the identity of the man who carried out the atrocity.

Unconfirmed reports from CBS News in America identified 23-year-old Salman Abedi as a suspect in the bombing.
