Yes bro we both born in jordan and till now we dont speak to the gongressman i think its not gonna help

If I were you, I would seriously get my congressman involved!  Mine has been involved almost since the beginning.

Also, contact the NVC and inquire about who you can speak to in order to make sure things are being done correctly with your visa.   The 9 FAM (policies and procedures of visas) doesn't seem like it's been followed in your case!

You can also retain a lawyer for $500 to begin threatening a lawsuit if they do not make a decision.

Just some advice!

@Mohd Al Said I also recommend contacting your Senate rep. My representative was VERY helpful and was able to push things along. They have a direct back channel to communicate with the embassies and they generally respond to them very quickly and positively.

I just read all 14 pages of this forum.  My K1 status changed from Administrative Processing (about 2 months) to Application received today. it states:

"Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application."

Our 'case opened' date also changed to today. I thought it would just go from AP to Ready then Issued.  is this normal?

When the status for a K-1 visa goes from "immigrant visa" to "nonimmigrant visa", I think it's all good news from there. After the visa change you should expect to see status changes in the following order...

Application received

Ready - Please note since you already interviewed you won't need to do it again in most cases.

Administrative processing - Means they're getting your visa printed out, sticking it into your passport and any other various admin work required

Issued

I read somewhere in these forums that once your visa changes to nonimmigrant then you're pretty much approved and just have to wait it out.

Hi Everyone,

First of all,  I am so grateful to find such a strong support group in all of you on this forum.   I and my Egyptian fiancé have the same predicament, we were on AP for almost 3 months.  Then on October 29, his CEAC status changed to "Non Immigrant Visa , Application Ready".  He also received an email from the US Embassy in Cairo to send them his passport  through Aramex.  We sent it on Nov 4.

Has anyone been asked to send their passport to the embassy and what was the result?  I read on other forums that they can hold the passport for months without any updates.

Any information helps! Thank you!
