We live in Uganda and it is quite expensive for us to call NVC all the time. Approximately how many days after submitting the DS-260 will they begin to process or start counting the 8-11 weeks? Our documents arrived last week, so it was just the DS-260 that was being waited on.

it will take 2-3 business days, they received ours on May 2nd and our scan date is May 5th

but you can call them visa Skype too, it will be way cheaper

Hi May scan dates... I have a recent discovery to share with you.. Hopefully this will help some of you get a better idea of when you can expect your CC and interview notifications. ;)

I just sorted our spreadsheet by interview city. And when I did that, I finally saw a trend about processing times "SD to CC".. And it looks like London is at about 8 weeks.

SD to CC - DAYS SD to CC - WEEKS
57 8.14
58 8.29

And regarding your interview date.. Last month were all given on May 31..  Looks like 'pjsr' had just missed that date as his CC was on June 1..  So if this is true.. hopefully they'll receive their interview notifications on June 30/July3rd ..  For an interview in August. :)

So this is good news for the more popular countries.. They can get a better idea of when they'll get their CC and interview notification.. Thank you to everyone for filling out the questionnaire and keeping our spreadsheet up to date.. Finally I think we can see some real evidence that processing times are based on the country you come from...

Well, we just found out today that we don't have the correct version of my husband's birth certificate. Instead of waiting for the rfe or checklist, we consulted in our own embassy thread last night.

My question is how can we submit the correct version before getting a checklist?

You can send the right birth certificate before you get a checklist and include a cover sheet and a letter explaining the situation. Your wait time will reset though, so it will be 9-11 weeks from when they get the correct document.

Oooor, you can wait for the checklist, then contact the NVC and ask to talk to the supervisor who is reviewing your documents and just ask to review it since it's one document. I saw in the April Filers thread that @mmaadd636 was in this situation and it all got sorted out when the supervisor called them. I'm not sure if this applies to everyone, maybe the supervisor was just being nice since they had already been at the nvc for quite a number of months at that time.

When's your original scan date? If you don't think you're gonna lose too much time since your original scan date, go ahead and send in it now.

Edit: okay, I just checked your scan date, it wasn't too long ago. Just send in the documents asap so you won't experience too much of a delay.

I wouldn't advise anyone to wait it out and hope that the NVC will accept bringing the correct version to the embassy... There are several cases (29 cases on our spreadsheet) where the NVC absolutely said "no", have to resubmit documents....  Even for something as simple wrong number of household member on the i864... @Dinah is still trying to get that straightened out... Her original scan date is 9/22/2016.. Still waiting for a CC after receiving 2 checklists...

These are the 29 cases that had to wait (or are waiting) another 8-11 weeks..

Incorrect Marriage Certificate
They said it was an incorrect birth certificate.
1st checklist 12/07/17 . correct info in AOS : in the application in sponsor's household size i filled the box #3 instead of #1.
2nd checklist 02/11/17 only sent corrected pages. Didn't know that i had to send all 12 pages again . my latest scan date was 02/15/17
They asked for a copy of my husbands Canadian green card. OR landing paper.
I-864, some places left blank.
Financial documents (standard as we are using assets). Also said we had incorrect birth certificate. When I called to clarify, turned out it was incorrect police certificate.
Wrong birth certificate
Asked for proof of canadian residence (PR card) which was already submitted with I-130 and mailed document to NVC on June 12th. Also assessment for W2 form which I can take in Interview.
Incorrect birth certificate. Needs to be one with parents names
long form birth certif
Police report , w2 from my sponsor
PCC and W2 form
Missing ppc
Missing police record
Police certificate from Germany
Photocopy of original birth certificate
NVC could not accept our police certificate-apparently they lost 2 pages of it
missing i-i-864a (household member)
obsolete AOS form
Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial documents
Court Records
Checklist for a death certificate
Birth certificate
Incorrect BC and police report
Marriage Certificate and Police Certificate
Police Certificate
requested missing Nigeria police clearance
Computer generated birth certificate
Missing Birth Certificate

we'll no one's saying that @goobies should hope that NVC will be lenient and allow documents to be brought straight to the interview instead of them having to be resubmitted again.

@goobies has already submitted her documents, and she just realized her mistake. She and her husband can easily send in the correct birth certificate now and wait another 9-11 weeks after the nvc receives it.

We're really fortunate for those 29 cases to share their unfortunate situation of getting a checklist. My hope is that we can all benefit from their misfortune by correcting any errors ASAP - ideally before submitting the documents to the NVC. So I am happy for @googies for discovering they've made a mistake (less than 1 week from the NVC receiving their original set of docs) and are correcting it ASAP instead of waiting it out for 9-11 weeks.

Hi all, and thanks for posting and your good work over all @JBMG About this and related to the NVC checklist spreadsheet, I have a question to consider.

- Photocopy original birth certificate...

Isn't that what NVC asks for?
