NVC rejected our original marriage certificate, so we had to get the requested form type. It took quite some time because the clerk entered my name incorrectly. Because it was entered into the system, we had to get a lawyer to change the name by court order so it would show correctly on the marriage certificate.
On top of that, NVC also said we couldn't use SocialSrcurity retirement income to qualify, so then we had to look for a joint sponsor. It explicitly states on the NVC website that SS retirement income can be used, and our amount was well over the minimum. Seems agents have to much freedom in deciding who qualifies vs a straightforward determination. |
