People seriously need to be educated on this.  My mom went to renew her licence before the primaries and was asked if she wanted to register to vote.  She gave the lady a look and explained that she can't as an LPR.  The lady was shocked and said that LPR's do it all of the time.  FYI, this was an area of Florida where Trump would've won in a landslide

Stories like these would keep coming until US implements a voter registration rule. Don't register voters unless they show proof of citizenship. it is unbelievably easy to register to vote in US. All you need to do is to check a box on a form and voila.

 

Gov't does not take people's word when issuing passports, hiring for classified jobs so why take someone's word when registering to vote?

Believe it or not back in the day.. some of the idiots at the DMV would automatically register people even when they declined...  they now make you answer yes or no on a screen these days though.

If she held a GC only an IJ could deport her and I have found no mention of any such proceedings.
