I honestly think someone seriously messed up. I saw the same thing and red flags went off. July 28 for ALL petitions in EVERY center? No way.

I agree. It's even worse because the California Service Center had a PD of August 4, 2016 last month and it's processing time has been set BACKWARDS to July 28th, 2016. It's possible this is a bug, but I'm no convinced that the processing timelines provided by USCIS is simply a way to deflect any sort of responsibility.

Income Tax Help!

Greetings everyone.

I am having a very difficult time trying to file my taxes. I have selected the option, "married, filing separately" on two different programs and with the AARP tax assistants at my library, and no one has been able to help me!

The problem is that I need a ITIN or SSN for my husband, but he doesn't have one. I checked what is required to get the ITIN, and from what I and the AARP woman understood, he doesn't qualify.

Does anyone know what to do?

Hi, you should search the forums. But what I did and what I found out from the forums is that, you have to put NRA where it says ssn. NRA meaning Non resident alien. The online systems will not allow you to put it in. So you will have to print out the form and mail it th the IRS.

I had to file one too, you need the W-7 form and was told I can not file electronically until his number is assigned so I am filing the ild way. Says it takes 7 weeks to get a number. You can download the forms with instructions from the internet
