Avoid the internal CBP checkpoint south of Alpine, Texas, even if you're a born-and-bred U.S. citizen.

Why ? And if you do everything legally like in the book , I don't see where there would be a problem

I am not sure what that means.

How is the weather in Telluride, any snow?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Everyone who is worried about Trump's plans should seriously read this https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/Immigration-Reform-Trump.pdf (I doubt half of the people here did, judging by some comments). He literally mostly aim to change work based visas and tourist visas. Not much in there about family based visas. You should probably only worry about those if there is some shady, criminal background or whatever.

dear lord this isnt that big of a thing .... trump has an immigrant wife. He obviously has a soft spot for people like us.

I do think they will limit or pause from particular countries. This is not new and has been going on forever.

Family immigration isnt what he is railing on..... I have yet to see anyone rail against family immigration. This is exactly the type of immigration we should be promoting.

Where?

The only time he has had an issue was after the san Bernadino killings. Since that was a K-1 visa .... that is the only time he has ever mentioned family visas.

What Trump mostly wants:

- Deport illegal immigrants and increase penalties for breaking the immigration law. Everyone who ever legally moved to the USA should support this. I'm sorry but I hate people breaking the law. I did my immigration the right way, you should too.

- Limit work visas. Nothing wrong with that. Who knows, maybe it will decrease the unemployment level.

- End "anchor baby" thing. Good. That law is ridiculous.

I find nothing wrong with any of that.

This is exactly what I have been telling people. The fear mongering over trumps immigration position is beyond the pale.

Ever since the election and all the talk about immigration reform I have had a paranoia that my status isn't secure anymore. Do you guys think Lawful PRs can be messed with?

Is it unreasonable that I fear talk about an isolationist America, which could lead to LPRs would being kicked out for taking jobs away from citizens? I know there's talk about banning muslim countries or enforcing extreme screening processes. What does this say about the current LPR muslims? Should they need to get re-screened?

What do you guys think? Not just about my crackpot theories, but the current status of LPRs in general. I feel like even though I haven't done
anything wrong, i'm in the wrong just for being an immigrant. Even though US is built on immigrants, the zeitgeist of this era doesn't feel that
way.
