Oh, I was just borrowing from The Guardian calling us Gen "Meh," (I'm one of them but closer to the Gen X side)...didn't say I agreed with them about that. But the enthusiasm did die down a bit after Bernie, so I can see why an extra push might help get people out to vote.

i think if you're born in the 70s you don't have to identify as millennial. the split in my mind being internet exposure pre-adulthood. mine was pretty zero but i have fond memories of pixelated dysentery.

Yeah, I'm in between the two. I ended up having early exposure to the 'net due to a a tech-head dad who got us internet and computers before everyone else on the block had one. But that said, I grew up on film cameras (and darkrooms! yay,) VHS tapes, Walkmans and all the other stuff Xers remember. But I agree that Millennials get a bad rap. Gen X was also chided for being apathetic when they were young but you don't hear much about that anymore.

Oh, back to topic: looks like the FBI investigation might just be a red herring as yuna628 points out. But...why? The motivation factor for bringing it out now still does intrigue me.

Basically I think this is a case of the FBI is investigating him for sex crimes NSFWorVJ and took a look at his devices and Huma's devices he may have been using - and are probably looking at private emails between Huma and Clinton. Or any related emails Huma may have sent.

If the FBI determines that any of the documents that ended up on the shared device were classified, Abedin could be deemed to have mishandled them. In order to prove that was a criminal offense, however, investigators would have to establish that Abedin had intended to disclose the contents of those classified documents, or that she knew she was mishandling that information.

If the documents were not classified, no crime was committed. But either way, this discovery has embarrassed Clinton, even though there is no evidence at this point suggesting she has been implicated in any potential wrongdoing.

According to a letter Comey sent to the chairs of several Congressional committee on Friday, he learned of these new emails on Thursday, October 27.

His decision to immediately reveal this discovery was not a partisan act. He was obligated to do so because of a previous statement he had made to Congress. In September, he testified that the bureau had completed its review of the evidence in the case and found no crimes had been committed. With the discovery of the information on the laptop shared by Weiner and Abedin, that sworn statement was no longer true, and there was new evidence that needed to be examined. As a result, Comey was obligated to inform the committees as quickly as possible that his previous statement was now incorrect.

Actually, there are other things that could bring down Huma and/or Hillary. If Huma or Hillary told the FBI that all devices used for Hillary's email system were destroyed, and then they found out there was this shared laptop that she did not disclose she could be prosecuted for lying to a LOE. I think that is what brought down General Cartwright. I think this would be more of an issue for Huma than Hillary, but who knows what Hillary told the FBI.

One thing I've noticed is that with the repeated scandals/general unpopularity of Hillary compared to other Dems (Elizabeth Warren, Sanders, etc)....Trump really is the ideal candidate for her to be up against. And Hillary's right-hand-woman Huma having a scumbag husband isn't really helping anything in her camp, especially now that it has overlapped with the email scandal. I guess in a few days another story about Trump's grossness/general foot-in-mouth-disease will pop up in the news to combat the newly revived Hillary email scandal.
