Yes. I'm in Los angeles right now with and F-1 visa. I can stay for three months legally speaking.

Okay, did you mention that you had a girlfriend in the US when you applied for the F-1 visa? Did you hide that in any way, did the question come up in your interview? Isn't there a question about US relatives on your application forms? What did you say?

Hey guys...

I don't know why everyone harps on questions like this. Do you all expect that random foreigners (no offense OP) or even US Citizens know how US immigration works? Because they don't. People are not necessarily criminal masterminds with grand plans to defraud the Government. More often they are confused people looking for help on how to be with their loved ones.

I think everyone understands that. That's why everyone advised OP to finish business on F-1, meet up, go back and apply for K-1 or IR-1/CR-1 whichever suits them. And I think it is our utmost duty to

1) Warn people of possible fraud

2) Not condone fraudulent behavior (even if it is unintentional)

And that is what everyone here is suggesting.

Thanks harpa for that comment. I think the main thing here is Intention. Yes...there's a lot of people who are public burdens and go to a country with false expectations but for the honest and SMART people who don't see the world through nations and man-made boundaries they only want to have a fair chance. I don't understand people who defend the same system that steals from them on a daily basis. I'm not an anarchist or anything like that. I only believe in being smart and use the system to your advantage. Cause no one asks you when it's time to create a new tax or go to a new war. I only want to be with my beloved one = )

I thought SMART people would weigh the 9-13 months wait time against 10 year (or lifetime) BAN. (as I'm sure everyone here did). They decided against possible lifetime ban and followed system even though each and everyone would like to just get a visitor visa and adjust status there. (Just search the website, you will find hundreds of cases that tried or thought of trying what you are thinking). I wish you all the best. If this works out for you, it works out for you. If it doesn't , well...

Don't you think you may be jumping into marrying someone that you haven't even met in person yet? The idea of the person you have built in your mind with the few months of conversation and the reality of being physically with the person are very different. You should really slow down and get to actually know this person and spend actual physical time with them before jumping into marriage. It seems like you are more after a greencard then a real relationship with this person based on how you've responded in this thread.

Basically, you can marry and adjust, EXCEPT, if you lied about having a gf in the US. Then you will be charged with material misrepresentation and banned from the US.

So, did they ask you about a girlfriend?

I am not sure somebody you have never met can be described as a Girl Friend, the applications for non immigrant visa's do ask about Family Members in the US but yet again she was not/is not yet a Family Member.

As far as I am aware there is no legal definition of a Girl Friend, how could there be?

Now in the US so I assume they have met.

People have been denied AOS for saying that a person was "just a friend" at a visa interview then submitting romantic relationship evidence that predates that interview for AOS.

That's why the questions asked at the interview matter. So far OP says he "didn't mention it" which could mean a lot of different things.

Maybe he was never asked, maybe he was and he said he did not know anyone in the US. We don't know until he shares. But this does matter.

I have seen maybe a handful on VJ, where were you? I'd have to search and VJ search is bad. I remember one from Russia in particular.

Something like that I would tend to remember.
