I am generally logged into my email most of the time during the day, and I keep an eye on my phone. USCIS maybe every few days. We're only at about 6 weeks so far so I'm not expecting anything for a while, but in a month or two I'm sure I'll have my phone permanently attached to my hand. My NOA1 came in the middle of the night (1:53am) so by then I'll probably have stopped sleeping, too.

I have the same scenario!!! My case can not be found and when we call they say it's still pending! I hate that!!! So we just have to wait and be patient.

I check USCIS and it says cannot be found. I tried to sign up for email case status, cannot be found. When i call them, they can't find it either, so i automatically get transferred to tier II person, which is the only good thing. The tier II person says the computer system does not work, they can see my case, and i just have to wait.

I must rate "completely insane" on the checking scale...my fiancee's visa is in AP at the embassy and they told us to check the status of the case on their website 4-5 weeks after the interview. the interview was 9 days ago. I've been checking maybe once every 10-15min during the time I'm awake... so excruciatingly frustrating. Wish there was someway to know what is going on. Goodluck to the rest of you all and hope everyone gets to be with who they want to be with.

When we initially sent in our petition, we didnt start checking anything until about 3.5 months into it for our own sanity. Then when it hit 4 months we were checking daily. Then 4.5 months we were checking 2-3 times a day lol It was crazy.

We got out email/text in the middle of the night on a Thursday when I was asleep (12:45am) and USC got his text (10:45pm)

Same thing! Didn't open the site for 3months aftr petition sent.. but after we received RFE.. it seems like almost everyday.. lol till now still waiting!

Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you..

I would say sometimes i check it too often and sometimes i feel like I don't check it enough...

And it shouldn't come as a surprise that most of the times I've actually been updated on the case status, I've received the notifications when least expected...

My wife has been here 7 months and I still check it daily  Back while waiting for the NOA 2, I would check a few times a day for about the last month of waiting. I got the text message and email before checking the web site one morning. BTW the web site was updated the same day as the text and email showed up, so sometimes it works.

OK OK we're waiting for our green card now, so I really do have a reason. If we're not dropped into the forever wait bit bucket, we should see it in a week or two.

I am over 4 months now, and I check once or twice each day. Before the fourth month I still checked a couple of times per week, I guess wondering if I had been "touched". I expect I am about 2-3 weeks away from hearing (18-22 days is the estimate here) but always hoping I'm one of the early ones, and not one of the late ones. Whatever way I hear first, I'll be exstatic, especially if there is no RFE. Mail, or email, or text, or website update, just can't wait for the news. This process is getting harder every day... Once the NOA2 comes at least activity starts again. This not knowing when is excruciating.

Best of luck everyone. I hope you all get yours before the expected dates

When I was going through all this, I would check maybe once or twice a week. No more. I knew this was going to be long and concentrated on my daily activities instead. Checking every few hours is just crazy and will make you crazy. What was that old expression? " A watched pot never boils?"
