Lol, and as soon as they switch to the left lane drive faaaaaaar below the speed limit....

What annoys me, and for some reason there is NEVER a cop around when that happens, is drivers who drive aggressively or think its necessarily to tail gate.
Even when you drive above the speed limit. Or drivers who cut you of instead of waiting till you pass.

And texting, or worse taking selfies while drive high speed on the freeway...

For that reason only, i see a lot of fatal accidents happening around here.

The most important factors for "safe speeding" (driving at 80+) are proper following distance and no erratic (my phone tried to autocorrect that to erotic...) sudden changes.

If everyone wants to drive 80 that's fine, but then there should be a distance between each car that allows for time to stop in an emergency. I almost never see the proper following distances.

That is not only unsafe but it also leads to horrible traffic when people all tap their brakes repeatedly.

:D you're phone prob thinks this a very boring discussion.

Agreed, its the lack of distance between cars that prob. results in accidents.  I can honestly say that I always leave more then enough space in between, more then  advised 6 or 8  seconds. It makes me literally anxious when i'm to close to another car,. Whether its a car in front of me, or some idiot tail gating me. I do believe that some people just do it for "fun" and "kicks".
I sat as a passenger in the car with a friend, and for no reason at all she kept driving extremly close to the cars in front of here. It wasn't extremly busy, we were not in a hurry...its just how she likes to drive.

I was nervous the entire ride, my foot automatically tried to hit the imaginery break lol.

Yes I hate it when drivers do that as well. This is extra dangerous because a car travelling behind the tailgater might not see my car, and then try to pass at the worst possible time.

I have had cars sit less than 5 feet from my rear bumper, and even when I slow down, they still refused to pass. I don't understand why someone would want to be that close. Aspiring proctologists is the best I can come up with.

No, if it only were that simple. Drivers around where I live have this weird habit of driving directly behind another car. It doesn't matter the weather conditions or time of day. They won't just over take the car in front.

I have been called many things, but a slow driver is not one of them.

That's called agressive driving, putting other people in danger.

Tail gating drivers are dangerous, and their driver's license should be suspended immediately.

It's not just there, I experienced it in LA and around Orlando the same thing.

It doesn't matter if you're doing 80+  on a 70 freeway, that type of driver's love to ride as close and intimidating as possible.

I see the results of that type of driving daily on the I-4

I noticed something like that too. I'm going 55 and somebody ends up right on my bumper. Sometimes I'll pull over after a while and let them pass and then a couple of miles later they are going 40. I've wondered at times if some people don't actually know what the speedometer is and just use other vehicles to gauge there speed.

Where's the +1,000 button?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It drives me nuts when I am following at a safe distance at 70-80 and another driver decides that there is enough space for them to travel.  These folks usually come from the right when they are weaving through traffic to get no where fast and then get caught behind a slower moving Right Lane driver.

or the ones that sprint infront of you coming out of another road or driveway, even though there are no cars behind you, all they had to do was wait 2 more secs instead of butting ahead, and as soon as they do that they go 10 miles under the limit. I agree, I wish they would ticket as much for impeding as they do for speeding.

Ehm, I specifically stated that the front driver is doing above the maximum speed. But some driver's still find it necessary to tail gate.

But even if the front driver is driving slow, tail gating is just dangerous and leads to more accidents.

What about passing the driver in front of correctly, without putting others in danger, and and then going 100+ if that's what they want.

As SB stated before, those tailgaters suddenly drop their speed by 10/20 miles as soon as they pass.

And then they go veeerrryyyy slow. And then you have to slam your breaks or swerve to another lane to avoid running into them.

That is a pain here in Michigan as well.  I think part of this is laziness and the consequences of DRLs.  The driver sees lights out front and thinks the headlights are one (and by extension the taillights), but their switch is in auto and it is still bright enough not to trigger the lights.

Agree 100%. Many of the new Toyota's have auto high beams. It turns the lights on and adjusts the brightness automatically.  I caution customers to not rely on that 100% as it may not come on in situations such as fog, snow storms, rain etc.

I noticed on my car that when I turn on the fog lamps, it disables the auto-high beams.  In my previous car, I actually used the auto-high beams a lot, but I had to remember to turn them off when it was foggy as that car did not have fog lights.
