visa F! visa denied

I recently applied for a tourist visa with my wife and got denied in Jan last year. I then applied for an F1 student Visa and got denied today, The CO told me his reason was that I had an engineering background and I was wanting to attend school for pre nursing. I still want to reapply, I don't know when I should again, What I should do to correct that? I have searched online but haven't found a clue. Please help with any advice. I'm thinking of reapplying with the same intent or do I switch back to Engineering on my iI20. Please comment with experience.

What was the reason they denied the tourist visa last year?  Because I'm wondering if that somehow carried over to when you applied for the student visa and the CO might have not told you the actual reason you were denied.  I find his reasoning odd..it's like he's saying people are never allowed to switch careers.  :/

My suggestion:  Enroll in a good  Nursing program in your country.

They would have to legally give you a reason to deny both you and your wife.

If you decide to reapply in the future, I suggest you prepare to show very strong ties to your country.  It sounds like the COs suspect you are trying to immigrate via a non-immigrant visa.

Nigeria is a high-fraud country so far as USCIS is concerned.  

 

You applied for a tourist visa in 2016 and got denied....then applied for a F1 visa in 2017 and got denied...and you're asking if just switching information around on your application so that you can apply for another F1 visa this year would get you approved.

 

I'm pretty certain you would be facing another denial.  That's intentional fraud for the purpose of gaining immigration benefits, and the CO would spot this quickly when viewing your previous F1 application where you were saying something completely different.

BTW--- I'm not saying you are committing fraud, I'm saying that's how the CO will view it when they see how the two F1 applications differ, submitting so closely together.

My advice would be this:  Do not change your educational background on your third application simply for the purpose of trying to obtain a visa.  It doesn't matter what form you were to submit in the future, because the CO would be able to see all of your previous original forms and what information you stated to be true on those.

 

I'm still curious about how you say you never were given a reason for the denial of your tourist visa last year.  I'm certain the CO was probably looking at the denial reason for the first application when deciding to deny your second application.
