Dave Knapp got a reaction from RO_AH in Philippines divorce question
Not carved in stone.  I was married to a Filipina in 2006 in the US by K-1 visa. When I met her she was married to a Filipino, in a Philippines civil wedding, and had been abandoned by her spouse who went to the US by his mother's Dual citizenship.  She (we) divorced him in a Texas court using his residency there as basis of jurisdiction.  She then got a Philippines passport in her maiden name, went through the K-1 process without issue, and came to the US.  We married. She Got her US citizenship 3 years later, and got a US passport. Then she went to the Philippine Embassy and got dual citizenship, and then a Philippine passport in her new married name.  Never say never.

Fortunately for the OP, you ARE wrong about this.  I've seen this before more than once.  Divorced is divorced.  Only one party needs to have standing in the location the divorce is filed.  You don't even have to know where the other party is.  Now, the Philippines wouldn't allow her to marry in the Philippines without an annulment, but the parties can marry anywhere else that will allow them to  marry, then proceed with US immigration without issue.

If you do that and airline A is late, and you miss your connection on Airline B, it's 100% your problem.  It's better to  spend a bit more and fly one carrier the whole trip.  You can split airlines coming and going, but its risky having more than one carrier on the same leg.

I do a couple trips per year to Philippine,  I always book in October and March time frame tickets are pretty cheap then.

I never book thru a third party site like kayak, etc. I alway book direct with the airlines in case my flight gets delayed or postponed it easy to reschedule, plus I don't see any savings going thru a 3rd party site.

    Good Luck.....

The Federal Poverty Level for 2023 for a 2 person household is $18,310.  You would need 125% of that, or $22,888, which would be $1907 per month.  My ask is simple and practical. Where are you gonna live on that?  After FICA and income tax come out, you have maybe $1550.  My advise is to figure out how you're gonna survive then work on the other stuff.

There's two things to consider: maintaining LPR status and spending enough time in the US for naturalization purposes.

When you spend 6 months or more overseas, you break continuous residence requirement for naturalization purposes. This means, you should count 3 or 5 years (whichever applies) from the date you entered the US after last 6+ months trip, not from date on green card (Resident Since date).

When you spend over a year outside of US, CBP may think you abandoned LPR status altogether.

If you need to remain ouside of the US for a year or two, you need to get a re-entry permit (I-131) so LPR status is not lost.

Both Canada and Mexico share entry and exit information at land crossings, so they would know. This has been in effect since 2017. Now unless you are talking about entering Mexico without inspection ( Jumping the border into Mexico) that may present other issues, but in theory they wouldn't know when you left, so may cause issues when you return. And once you try to board a plane in Mexico, they will check to see if you entered Mexico legally, so trip would end rather quickly.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) cooperates with both Canada and Mexico to secure our shared borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Under the U.S.-Mexico Entry/Exit Data Sharing Initiative, CBP and Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) intend to exchange border crossing information collected from travelers entering Mexico at ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border. The exchange of border crossing information under this initiative is intended to assist INM in creating entry records, and assist CBP in creating U.S. exit records based on a record of entry to Mexico, thereby facilitating cross-border travel and supporting both parties’ immigration and law enforcement missions.

NBI clearance is valid for 2 years for US immigration purposes, but the interviewing officer may ask for a more recent one.  If you intend to delay the visa interview to next year, best to renew NBI clearance prior to the interview.  Make sure to upload a scan of the updated clearance to CEAC portal under the additional civil documents section.

I increased to resolution to 600 x 600 and it was too big in color, so I switched to B & W and the 2 page birth certificate was about 1.5 MB which is ok.  It is clearer. I hope they'll accept a black and white scan of a color document.  As for getting a better copy from the PSA, that ship has sailed.  What they have in their system is what you get.  The original document may exist in a moldy cardboard box somewhere, but I doubt if anyone could or would even attempt to find it.  They struggle daily to stay in the  19th century, and I feel that they're winning. Take care and thanks.

I'm probably the last person on this planet to offer up relationship advice, but the way you're going, you're trouble keeping your story straight. When you tell the truth, you don't have to remember what you said. Come clean with your other half and take your lumps.  If it goes down the toilet, it would have anyway, just not over that.  Good luck.

Didn't Ask Emma. I just checked the status in my account. I was tempted to file a K-3 since there is evidence on here that it catapults you toward the front of the line.  But, when I learned about that strategy, it had been several months since filing the I-130, and I was worried it would mess that up. Nothing to do now except light a candle and pray that they won't issue an RFE. Good luck with yours.  I'll post whatever happens next.  Be safe.
