if specific instances is what you are asking for then

My very good friends sister here in Dallas was sent back from Abu Dhabi (immigration in Abu Dhabi) as they went through her phone and found pictures after picture of her nikah/wedding/party/engagement (they tried naming it)

They actually asked to see her phone and asked her questions about pictures on her phone

This is a personal friend, who went through this.

any us visa application (immigrant or non immigrant) will always have the question that were you ever denied the US visa, obviously you cannot lie, now how does this effect the immigration route there are much experienced guides here who will be able to share their expereince. But I would assume yes it does effect in some ways.

But if you have a strong immigration case for K1 or IR, you have relationship proof and all then the burden of support will shift towards you and it might be a better option. Also, it will give you some time to think and understand the person rather than trying to right away move mountains.

It will not if the denial was due to lack of ties to home country (which is why the vast, vast, vast majority are denied).  A B2 denial, in itself, is not an issue.

mitzab got a reaction from Chancy in Why Is there a large time difference in the approval of the K1 visa compared to the IR-1/CR-1 visa with respect to Pakistan?
I applied for k1 visa for my then fiance and now wife, her process took almost 1 year to complete from filing to arrival in the US, it was filed in the middle of covid epidemic in January 2021.

I consider myself extremely lucky as around that time the process for k1 was shortened, it was a big risk for me and it worked out. People who filed in 2021 for K1 visa will show a shorter timeline. It is now getting back to pre covid levels of 15-18 months. Don't forget that after the fiance arrives to US it will be another 8-12 months before he/she receives the EAD/AP. GC is another story.

Thankfully we were never under significant strain for EAD and her AP also got approved within the right time frame and she was able to travel and meet her family.

After all of my positive stories about K1, I  believe 110% that spousal visa is a far superior visa. All in all by the time you get the benefits of GC it will be almost the same timeframe.

mitzab reacted to EatBulaga in i129F - what item number to list on page 13 for additional Residence and Employment
For the I-129F Expires 3/31/2024, to add additional Petitioner Employment in the Part8 Additional Information, list Page Number 2, Part Number 1, Item Number 13-20, and start with "Employer 3".

For additional Petitioner Physical Address, list Page Number 2, Part Number 1, Item Number 9-12, and start with "Physical Address 3".

You can follow the format of each of the parts to fill out the information like:
"Street Number and Name: 123 Main St".
You can always add more Part8 pages as needed, but remember that you just need to list the last 5 years for both address history and employment.

Our AP was approved today, there is a notice of approval on the USCIS website.

Quick Question: How is the AP card send? is it a card like EAD or just a notice of approval (piece of paper) that you use at the airport?!
    thanks

You should receive it in a week ten days from approved 765

    It changes from

    Your case is approved
    Card is being produced
    Card is produced
    Card is mailed

Based on little reading I did, it should also say case closed next to EAD and if it's going to be a combo card it should also say case closed next to AP on the USCIS account.

Hey, just wanted to give people an update or at least another point of data since it's hard to come by. We filed for AOS the end of January 2022 and just were approved last week without having to go in for an interview. Based on the timeline on here it says it's taking a year for the Denver field office to answer AOSs and the USCIS website says 80% are completed in 14 moths so we are really happy that went so fast.

Glad to have gotten to this point as the Social Security service royally messed up and we weren't able to get a SSN even after following all of the warnings from others about waiting X time after you enter and so on. Really big thanks to everyone who has answered my questions along the way even if you didn't directly I heavily relied on this forum and others questions to try and make sure I had the most up to date information along with what USCIS posts which can sometimes be confusing and needs clarification.

A few more things to take care of but not feeling like you are under house arrest and unable to leave the country to visit friends and family is a huge relief for both of us.

I wouldn’t call that a ‘simple 221g.’   In fact, it is a DS-5535, often given to Pakistani applicants for further vetting.

I would not expect them to get a non-immigrant visa, now that they want to immigrate.

Whatever issues that led to the DS-5535 being given to them will likely persist through the immigrant visa process.

This is the ds 5535 for additional security checks

they will not receive a tourist visa now as the petition for immigration is in computers/   they can withdraw the application for tourist visas

and as Jorgedig says,  they will have to fill out the same questions for the CO at the IR5 interview so they should research any travel dates and all other questions to be prepared to answer them
formally they can be given (or sent to them) the actual ds 5535 questionarie but many of these questions are now included in the ds 260

the following is the complete ds 5535

Thanks again to all of you for being with me on this journey.
