@Natepartlan Congrats on your interview letter from USEM! Can I confirm that you are saying both your unmarried children are still F2A even though they have aged out over 21 since their DQ April 2020 date? Are you saying that they will still be processed as F2A even though they are over 21 now because they were under 21 when they were DQ'ed  back in April 2020.

My in-laws have their daughters F2A's that has been DQ'ed since Nov 2020 & waiting for an interview scheduling from USEM- it will soon be a full 2 years now having being DQ'ed and being current. I'm thinking about sending an expedite request within 60 days before she turns 21 and "ages out"

@Bochog As shared in my other post- USEM website in October now states that they are processing F2A's that were DQ'ed in Feb 2020 "Most current family preference cases being scheduled are approved expedite cases and cases that were documentarily complete at National Visa Center in February 2020."

Here is the month by month F2A issuance statistics issued by USEM this year in 2022 (yellow highlight) https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html

Oddly enough, 3 weeks after the rejection we get an email from the NVC saying we're now scheduled for interview in November.  Maybe the rejected expedite request 'put us on their radar'?  Who knows how things work over there.  Anyway, SLEC medical scheduled and Manila hotel reserved.  Now more hurry up and wait 😝

    Refresher for those compiling data:
    Visa class F2A-F22
    PD 06Dec2017
    I-130 approved 05Aug2019
DQ 24Apr2020 (which was 1 day after Trump's shutdown mandate?)
    Expedite request 29Aug2022
    Expedite rejection 16Sep2022
    Interview scheduled 06Oct2022

Omg they have not set an interview for you for 2 years from NVC being dq’d? That’s just insane!

    1. Up to 90 days early. To be on safe side, better if you don't file right on the first eligible day.

    2. Nobody is required to be in the US for 5 years. 30 months is the physical presence requirement. as long as your trips didn't last for more than 6 months, you are good to go.

    3. No effect at this point.

    Did you submit another request?

How soon did you submit after you previous one/s was/were denied?

Did you change your reason or you kept it consistent with the previous ones?

How many times have you submitted the request?

Thanks to everyone who will answer.

Brah, at this point, you just need to chill.

    It's out of your hands.

I am in the same boat as you. Been waiting for an interview date for my wife since August 2020, but your venting ain't gonna do anything.

Just put your energy towards doing something more productive.

P.S. As of now, USEM is processing those DQed by July 2020. Your time will come, brah. Relax.

For those travelling to the Philippines, make sure you fill out online the One Health Pass (https://www.onehealthpass.com.ph/e-HDC/) at least 24 hours prior to your departure. It literally saved me a few hours!

At the check in PAL check-in counter in SFO, they ask for the QR Code that was generated after filing out the One Health Pass. When I arrived in Manila, that was the first thing that they asked.

I got off the plane around 6-6:15am and was at my hotel in Quezon City (which is a solid 45 mins of travel) by 7:30am. Take note that I had 4 big suitcases which I had to wait for at the carousel, so it took me at least 5-10 minutes of waiting there.

Also, I would recommend getting Detoxicare for the required Covid test at the hotel. They offer an early swab option, which means that they can perform the swab as early as 12:00MN - 2:00 on the day of your scheduled swab and release the results within 8 hours. Ordinary swab starts at 6am and results would be released within 24 hours. This means that if your scheduled swab is on 19th of December, and you avail of the early swab, you can check out on the 19th as well, instead of getting the results the following day. The early swab costs the same as the regular one, but you need to prepay it online (you can pay the regular swab in-person when they perform the swab at your hotel)

Lastly, if you are a Filipino Citizen (or a dual-citizen), make sure to bring your Filipino passport so you don't need to fall in line at the immigration and you can just use their fancy passport scanner.

    Hope that helps.

Their logic for approving makes no sense. I think the dude who reviewed my request was just having a crappy day. LOL!

We are currently waiting for an interview schedule (DQ: Aug 2020). My wife has a valid tourist visa and can visit anytime. She’s scheduled to be here Christmas this year. Is it possible to request that the interview be held here instead of the embassy? If so, how do I do that?

Yes. I think they initially assign it to the nearest location, however they often transfer cases depending on the load of other NVC locations.

It is, but many embassies are still prioritizing IR visas over F2s for scheduling interviews. Definitely worth letting them know both for scheduling purposes and for getting the correct visa type listed. I would certainly let them know if I was OP. “Worst” case, nothing changes, best case they get an interview faster. Nothing to lose and potentially something to gain by letting them know.

So you submitted your documents via the CEAC website, correct?

In my case, it took about 2 months when they informed me that it is documentarily complete.

Assuming that they are satisfied with the documents that you submitted, I think it should take about the same time that mine did. If in case they request for additional documents, it will take longer because I believe they will treat it as a new submission altogether. Periodically check the CEAC website and see if there are any messages that they send you.

Once they inform you that your documents are complete, they will then transmit the same to the appropriate consular office that will process it.  That can be a bit longer than usual since most consular offices are working on a reduced staff, and I believe most of them are also not processing family-based petitions of permanent residents. Before it takes anywhere between 30-90 days for the consular office to schedule the interview, but like I said, it can be longer because of this pandemic.

Good luck and let me know if there's any other questions that I can help you with.
