  6. Five Major SCOTUS Decisions Expected This Summer Every June, legal analysts, political pundits, and Court watchers brace for what has become one of the most significant—and oftentimes nerve-wracking—annual political events: the yearly release of long-awaited Supreme Court opinions. The Court already made an early splash this term in March with its historic 9-0 ruling that Colorado does not have the constitutional authority to unilaterally remove Donald Trump from its state primary ballots. In just a few weeks, the justices are expected to hand down more noteworthy decisions that could have significant implications on American politics, the November presidential election, and the future of the law itself. 8. Talks about cats, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why do dogs sniff each other's butts? When two dogs meet, they often go straight for a whiff of each other's behind. And anyone living in a multicat household will tell you that cats regularly put their nose under their fellow felines' tails. So why do dogs sniff each other's butts? It turns out, there's a good reason behind this bottom-sniffing obsession. [...] https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/why-dogs-sniff-others-butts-090000688.html

  13. Thrilling Sunday report, see man: It was Many-o de Mayo, Mexican holiday man. Visited Mama T-B., visit Mama T-B. Two Guys man. Mama T-B. wanted help changing cartridges in her inkjet printer, those are nothing but headaches man. Mini-B. was recruited for this, with help of an online tutorial, scope wee man and senior she man. Mini-B. grasped the essence right away and proceeded, bad move man. Mama T-B. wanted to see the entire video and went aysheep regarding the premature action, aysheep senior she man. Of course, what Mini-B. did worked, but not satisfactory to Mama T-B. because the entire tutorial wasn't viewed, aysheep senior she man. Then, the test-pattern wouldn't print the pink color, how important is this man. Mama T-B. began fretting about missed instructions, defective cartridges, or both, aysheep senior she man. We were recruited to diagnose this, like we know any more than anyone else about it man. We found several tutorials but not to Mama T-B.'s liking, no man. We ended up the bad guy in this entire episode, can't win man. Mama T-B. donated several of the week's desserts to Mini-B., as usual man. Mama T-B. donated a lunch allocation to Mini-B., pick up on way out man. It was enchiladas, beans, & rice, Many-o de Mayo theme man. On our way to the T-B.-mobile, it began to monsoon, recurrent pattern all day man. Mini-B. got mad at us for needing a restroom visit before retrieving lunch, peeved wee man. At the casa, Mini-B. consumed the enchiladas, ingest wee man. He then wanted desserts, ingest Many (2+1) -- si man, Many (2+1) -- of them wee man. We consumed the rice/beans and the Manys Leches ([2+1] leches) dessert, ingest we man. At the end, we had Many (2+2+1) -- si man, Many (2+2+1) -- empty styrofoam containers, garbage man. We eventually conquered the Many (2+1) laundry loads, victorious we man. Our attempted siesta was thwarted by incoming texts from ex-Mrs.-T-B., no zzz for we man man. Din-din was Many (2 Manyzen +1) mini-tacos from Costco, ingest Two Guys man. Mini-B. expressed approval, full week of acceptable Two Guys din-dins concocted by us man. Ex-Mrs.-T-B. is prohibiting his phone use in the bathroom from now on, probably sensible man. We want to do this but are reasonably effective with use of constant badgering/yelling, OK for now man. Mini-B. has no sense of time and is Siamese-Twinned to his phone, man. We have a doc appointment Monday afternoon, renew Rx's and ask minor questions man. 14. Whether you're being sarcastic or not, Bro G., we make it a point to keep two -- one in the garage, one in the T-B.-mobile's trunk, si man. Who cares if we need it once in a blue moon, conclude we man. One winter years ago when we had to park outside, we needed not only the ice-scraper, but a couple of panfuls of boiling water to soften the ice so that we could scrape it, remember we man.
  15. The lingering question in my mind is how another country would or could know about a misdemeanor from 9 years ago, and expunged on top of that. If you had to apply for a visa to enter or to stay for a long time, you might have to report it, but if you can simply enter for a stay that's shorter than 90 or 120 or 180 days, the entry personnel probably won't even ask. Regardless, researching the entry requirements of your countries of choice is sound advice. You might even contact the U.S. Citizen units of the U.S. consulates in those countries to gain their feedback. --- Just today, I found this online article, which is good for everyone to read: The 1 Big Mistake You Should Never, Ever Make With Your Passport [...] "A lot of us just think we need a valid passport to travel the world beyond our borders, but what many people don't realize [is] that a current passport alone might not be enough," said Katy Nastro, a spokesperson for the flight alert service Going. 16. In hopes of compelling more approvals and good news (that is, if correlation = causation), we present here our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ============================================== AS INSTRUCTED Two hunters were out one day and were about to shoot a buck. Suddenly, one of the hunters clutched his chest and fell to the ground. The other hunter, in shock, called 9-1-1. The operator said, "9-1-1; what's your emergency?" The hunter nervously said, "My friend just collapsed, and I think he's dead!" The operator responded, "OK; can you make sure?" A gunshot was heard over the phone. "Done. Now what?"
  17. New York DA Indicts Trump For Bringing Firefighters Pizza But No Salad Or Cheesy Bread [...] "After a lengthy day in court, former President Trump personally delivered pizzas to New York firefighters without a single leaf of salad or some cheesy bread," declared District Attorney Alvin Bragg. 18. The only solution is to send U several zillion more dollars, right? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ukraine's Soldiers Admit Even Rear Lines are Failing [...] In a rare interview with one Ukrainian front-line commander, the Associated Press reveals that it's often not even safe for them to pull back and try to regroup in the face of the Russian advance. They have no ability to counter these types of attacks and the Russians can reach well beyond the poorly defined front lines. 21. Finally, a piece that articulates what has bothered many of us. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's How We Know The Climate Crisis Is Not About The Climate [...] Over the last three calendar years, 2021, 2022, and 2023, “"no country has reduced its carbon emissions more than any other major nation on a per capita basis," the Committee to Unleash Prosperity tells us. "Even though our GDP is about 50% higher than China's, our per capita emissions are roughly the same," says the group. The data also tell us that though China's emissions grow every year, "ours have come down every year over the last decade." Yet the U.S. is continually singled out as the worst greenhouse gas offender [...] https://issuesinsights.com/2024/05/03/heres-how-we-know-the-climate-crisis-is-not-about-the-climate/
  22. Why is this not surprising? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trump Whodunnit: Prosecutors admit key evidence in document case has been tampered with In a stunning admission, Special Counsel Jack Smith's team is admitting that key evidence in former President Donald Trump's classified documents criminal case was altered or manipulated since it was seized by the FBI, and that prosecutors misled the court about it for a period of time. Legal experts told Just the News the revelation could prove to be a serious problem for prosecutors and a violation of court rules to preserve evidence in the state it was seized. 23. It's hard enough for U.S. authorities to retrieve expunged records. Imagine how difficult this would be for authorities in foreign countries. I think it's Canada that won't let U.S. citizens in if there's a conviction for DUI, DWI, or similar (others can confirm or correct this). An expunged misdemeanor arrest from 9 years ago would almost certainly be beyond their capability to research. If you have a U.S. passport with at least 6 months of validity left on it, you can travel just about anywhere, of course keeping in mind any lengths of stay or work permits required by other countries. I wouldn't worry about your arrest.
