considering some of the stories i've read on this page, i was expecting something really dramatic. a truly tough situation. yours doesn't seem like a problem at all.

i sent mine on august 24th, received on 26th, and only got the texts this tuesday SEPTEMBER 29th.... in other words, kua mpole! it will come through i have no doubt.
 
how did you pay? that is the most immediate way to track your progress.

i'm using the phrase "original re-submission" 😕
 
i've also included (but not listed below) a copy of the instructions page where it says you don't have to pay if you filed 485 before that certain date. i highlighted those parts. i know, a little extra and probably overkill, but whatever
 

For sure this is a good thing you've done. I notice most of the questions are "who/where/when" questions and not "why do you..." type. That's good.

I won't give any advice on any of your questions (there are far more experienced people here) except that last part.

Have you gotten any notifications by snail mail yet? I got just the 797 Rejection Notice for using the old 765 form. But i haven't gotten any receipts for the other three that were accepted (but i got texts for each of them).
 
I'm asking because I want to resend the 765 using the new form. One of the required pieces of documentation is the receipt for the 485 (to prove that i don't have to pay for the 765).
 
Just curious if you've gotten paper receipts yet. Like it or not we are now in this together until we have the green cards in our hands 😂

Three things to get through immigration processes: knowledge and information (you get that here), money (only you know where you get that), and patience (the hardest of the three).

Why would you send the 10/2 version before that if they explicitly say it's gonna be rejected if postmarked before that. You can either send the 08/25 now via USPS. Or wait for Oct 2nd to send the new version.

Did your Visa expire or just the 6-month i94 stay? If the visa is still valid you should have no problem.

Who will you call?  If you don't have a case number, the USCIS will not know about you. 
 
The best you can do is contact the lockbox but they can take up to 30 days to reply.
