There are rumors saying they might resume interviews in september. Only rumors so far.
Interesting! Have you read this somewhere or just word of mouth?

NVC is holding on to documents until embassies/consulates open. It sounds like we will only receive the interview letter after their opening, which will likely vary from country to country, depending on each place´s response to COVID19.
-
This is your chance. Only you can make this work. There will be challenges and often you´ll think things arent´t fair. Keep your head up high and remember that you will likely have to work twice as hard - but you can do it! If you went through USCIS and NVC successfully, you will get through it! We´re cheering for you!

My husband picked up visa the day before everything got shut down and has to leave before aug 14th. Were thankful but nervous at the same time. Apart from waiting until travel restrictions are lifted, were also worried about the how the economy has been affected as hes leaving behind elderly parents who really need him under these circumstances. Hes the only one working in his household with a job that he can do from home
This really resonates with me. Good luck!

Wait till you hear back from them would be my guess.
They have the ability to re- issue the visa but your wife will have to do another medical, pay the fees again and have an interview again.
Thanks for the response. Can’t understand why they’d ask for another interview... then again, nothing makes much sense these days.

Hi thanks have you received any update from the embassy or reached out to them? Also were your papers DQed? Thanks so much. Yes, we all hope they open soon.
I have not received anything from the embassy. From what I gather in this forum, we must just wait... good luck to us! 😃

Hi. I received an email from NVC today that my expedite request was approved and my case will be sent to the embassy. What should I do now? Should I e-mail the embassy?
Now you wait for the embassy to contact you with the interview letter.
Consulates/embassies are all closed so don´t anticipate to hear any news until they open again... unfortunately no one knows when that will be. Could vary from country to country, depending on the COVID19 response in each area.
I´m in the same boat as you.

I am at the stage in the I-130 process where everything has been submitted, and I need to schedule my medical examination and interview in London. This is obviously not happening any time soon.
I had hoped to wrap this whole process up by the end of July, so we could move over in time for my kid starting the new school term. I doubt this is going to happen either.
Just wondering what my options are at this point. Ideally, we want to move during the summer so my kid isn't missing any school. I know there's a 6 month time limit after getting the visa that I have to move to the US. Is there a time limit on booking the medical/interview? How long could I reasonably hold that off, after all the lockdowns are over? i.e. could I stretch it out to next year without having to reapply?
We have the exact same problem. I am in Brazil. I got DQ last month and am waiting for the interview letter. The school situation is the most worrisome.
Before COVID Brazil was taking roughly 2 months to schedule. No clue as to what will happen now with the backlog.
I still haven´t done the medical.

I’m actually wondering if any of the approved cases had IOE numbers? Maybe something’s up with the new integration. But then again there are folks with February submissions who filed I-130 long before IOE became a thing so I really don’t know
I submitted in March and got DQ last week. No IOE.

Hello everyone,
do you guys know what will happen with us waiting for an interview? My embassy is not posting anything about this ban or whatever, im wondering if ill need new police certificate and pictures maybe some other things as well.. any information is good, cause i havent gotten any news since being dq’d on march 3rd..
❤️
My guess is that you might need a new police certificate if yours expired by the time the interview takes place. At this point, no one knows when the embassies will open - and it will vary from country to country, depending on how each country is handling the COVID19 situation.

We both have the same submission date. Its very aggrevating to see how NVC system is unfair. 😔
Are you a USC or LPR? Maybe they're prioritizing different categories? Not sure... anything's possible with NVC

Thank you for the information. I forgot to mention what about I-864 form? Does my spouse need to send me wet signature I-864 form?
Yes, it is required for that form. We´ve seen people who did not hand sign this form who got RFE in this forum.

Let me give a bit of a longer clarification. We both live abroad and have over the last 10 years. All of my US taxes have been filed using a foreign address which means that in the Get Transcript tool on the IRS website, it never really recognizes foreign addresses so that's one hurdle that is hard if not impossible to overcome. On top of that I could use my parents cell phone numbers, but those are all not registered to my name, so I think those are not able to be used either. Moral of the story, especially with the transcripts not able to be mailed at this time, I don't know if it's possible to get a hold of a tax transcript.
Sorry I guess I should have written this out more clearly at the outset!!
I´ve also had this problem with the international address and phone number. I ended up calling the IRS and having the transcripts mailed to a friend in the USA and having her Fedex it to me...

So i don't mention nothing about my wife income and taxes ?
This form is specific to the immigrant. The purpose is to find out whether the immigrant (you) is likely to need government assistance while in the USA.
For Part 4 you can write that you have not filed taxes because you have not lived or generated income in the USA.
There you can also include your yearly income (part 4, item 8A).

Thanks but i never been in the USA I'm living far from my wife never worked in the USA and i never had an income and filled for taxes
Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought YOU were the USC...
Do you have income? If so, then just state what that is - you will need employment verification letter stating that and the proof of deposits into your account.
-
You should file US taxes even when you live abroad. So you can send the tax transcript for that.
As for your income, you use whatever income you filed on your taxes.

I'm one of those people that got their AOS interview wavier. There are about 7 couples now who have also got a wavier. I have no idea what USCIS was looking for or what criteria they used to approve me among the others. There was a J1 visa to get a wavier, but for the most part they were K1s based AOS. I wish I could be more help to you.
I am thrilled for you! Good news for one is good news for all! I wish we could understand their processing method. I guess time will tell. Congrats to you!

Wow! That sounds encouraging but it looks like it is primarily K1’s getting their AOS interviews waived.
Is that strange? Bc a wedding that hasn't happened seems to be getting preference over an established family (people with 10 yr of marriage and kids etc)...

@Michael&Karen Thank you for posting that your message wouldn´t open. I ended up logging into my account and saw that I had 2 messages and they wouldn´t open either. I called NVC (60 minutes waiting).
The officer said the messages are not opening and one has to call to have them read to them.
Turns out one message said I was DQ´d and the other said I don´t meet minimal income requirements. She said the ultimate decision lies with the Council Officer but suggested I get a joint sponsor.
I am very surprised to find this information like this. I was going by my DQ email and thought everything had been approved and was good to go...
But I am glad to have known this before the interview. Yet another example of VJ helping each other out.
PS: I have a lawyer (hired before I found out about VJ)... who was not aware of this either.
Sigh...
