Thank you! @Joyoussinger

Congratulations!!! Wait for your green card. The date of approval will be on it. It's very possible that it will be the date of your interview, as was ours. Sometimes, it takes a little longer for the actual, official approval.

The Oct. 1 change is still fairly recent but since DS-3025 was properly completed at the time of K-1 medical then that should suffice.

I would try to speak to someone higher up in your state's DMV. E.g. a DMV constituent office or something similar. Maybe they can re-issue it valid for one year.
I got my DL here in AZ with my I-797C valid for one year from the notice date, even though many people on this forum will just tell you "you're out of luck, should not have done the K-1". That is not just useless, but most of all false advice.
Yes it differs from state to state, and I don't know how yours will handle it but in the end it highly depends on who looks at your case and how much they know the processes and IT systems.
Best of luck.

As soon as you married your status is changed and not eligible for a driver license until you receive your EAD card

I can confirm what was said here. Once you file for AOS, you cannot get a local driver licence until you get your EAD or Greencard. In Pennsylvania where I am, there is even an additional requirement for non US citizen to have accrued 1 year of lawful presence before you can apply for a DL!
until then, you are not allowed to drive, even if you have a DL from your country of origin. It’s not fun, but it is what it is.

When I moved to Arkansas, I was able to get a driver's license based on my K-1 visa but its expiration date was tied to my I-94. So after the 90 days were up, I had to wait for my EAD before I could drive again.

The next is either RFE, EAD, interview letter or GC, or NOID. The i797c of i485 will tell you are not staying illegally for the moment. However since i797c is not a document showing your status with an expiry date, not everyone accept it.

They don’t send anything regarding biometrics.
i-797c serves as proof you having authorized stay in the US until your I-485 is adjudicated, however authorized stay is not the same as lawful immigration status. It just means you’re not accruing unlawful presence (ie you’re not out of status) because you’re authorized to stay until you receive approval or denial. Once you receive your green card, you will have lawful immigration status. Luckily many places like DMV will also take EAD as proof.

Yeah, only few states recognize i797c. Many required valid i94 or EAD showing actual expiry date.
You won't receive i797A or B. They are for others doing change of status in which case uscis issues replacement 94 or doc showing approval of alien worker.
No.
As said, in your case EAD or GC are the only docs that will allow you renew your DL after it is expired.

~ Moved from AOS K1/K3 forum to Moving to the US and Your New Life in America - this has to do with getting a DL and not AOS process~
Each state has its own rules. Some states issue DLs regardless of immigration status (e.g. NY), but looks like Arkansas needs solid proof. I-797B and I-797A are not applicable to your case. Your I-94 won’t change automatically, it’ll still show the same “admitted until” date. As others have stated, you will need to wait until you receive your EAD or GC.

In many states, a K1 DL is only valid until day 90.
If driving was important, a Spousal visa would have been a better option.
That's one of the downfall to K1s in many states.
PS I797A is the Approval notice of any application filed.

I think you'd need to wait for the EAD card to renew the driver's license.

Brookeandluuk reacted to Ayrton in I-864 W2 + 1040
Transcript is a summary of all the tax forms filed, that's why it's preferred because it's a 5-7 pages document instead of 30-100 complete tax return.
Your spouse can also try to call IRS to request the transcripts by phone, but it might take a while, so sending the complete tax return + W2 is also okay.

Brookeandluuk reacted to Scandi in New edition date I-485
For new forms they don't go by the received date, but the date it was stamped by the post office (which is usually the day you drop off your package at the post office, or the day after if you dropped it off late in the day).

Brookeandluuk reacted to arken in New edition date I-485
Should be, yes but with uscis you never know. There are cases where the packages have been returned for using incorrect editions even though they should have been accepted. When it's close to the edition cut off date, I'd say use the latest edition.

Brookeandluuk reacted to Dashinka in New edition date I-485
Have you already filled out and filed the form using the 3/10/21 edition? If not, then use the latest 3/29/21 edition, and there should be no issues. If you already submitted the 3/10/21 form, you should be fine since October 13th is still about eight weeks away.
Good Luck!

Brookeandluuk reacted to JonathanandNoel in K1 reissue request - follow up interview
Hi,
If I understand correctly from your immigration timeline, you got approved and received the K1 visa january 2020?
I can't imagine the struggle it must've been not being able to go while having the visa. I'm so happy to read you now have a follow-up interview planned. I hope all goes well.
I was wondering is the expiration time of the K1 visa? Is it 6 months?
Thank you. All the best

Brookeandluuk reacted to KayDeeCee in POE - do not open package - question
No. You hand over the sealed envelope packet and it will not be returned to you. It is your immigration file to date, and will be forwarded to the USCIS .
