Ok thanks everyone for your insights. I love my fiance and we talk almost everyday and sometimes hours too. My family loves her too. Those I said were plans and have NOT filed on anything yet. That is the reason why I’m asking for your insights and not sarcasm. I’m asking for your help because this is the first time I goin’ to do it. I came here for help because I know a lot of you were all experienced when it comes to this. So pls don’t judge me.  I’m new here on this site too. Probably it’s my fault. I should have asks this question instead, “What is the exact definition and extent of hardship on the USCIS eligibility?”   And of course, I will find a way to get back in the Philippines just to see her.    Thank you.

Even in the off-chance that USCIS approves your hardship K1 petition, my biggest concern for your case is the affidavit of support portion of the K1 Visa process.  You'll have to prove to the USCIS in the K1 interview that you can solely support your fiancee financially.  By claiming that you have financial hardship as the basis for not seeing your fiancee in the past two years, you are basically removing any chances of proving to the USCIS that you can support your fiancee financially once she arrives in the US.

    This.

We spent probably less than $3000 on our wedding. Free venue etc. We're planning on doing a small family celebration when we go to the UK over summer too.

No chance at all. Don't waste their time or your own (or filing fees).

    Not an I-129F.

"Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), may not be filed with, or approved or denied by, a consular officer or an immigration officer stationed abroad.  All K visa petitions must be filed with USCIS in the United States. "

In order to get where you need to go, you have to spend - money, time, energy! There are absolutely no shortcuts.

To be honest, many of us are strapped for cash and time one way or the other, but we make it happen. Save, find cheap tickets, go often, is all I can suggest.

Not sure where in the US you are, but plane tickets range from $650 and up. I made 6 trips to India, 24 hour trips...tickets cost me, lodging kicked my behind, leaving work hurt me horribly, but I did it and now my husband is here.

Do what needs to be done, and you can save money later.

Petitions are approved in the Philippines?

I have seen one and only one petition approved in the Philippines where they waived the 2 year meeting requirement, and that was many years ago when the petitioner had a medical condition that kept him from flying.

Deny yes, but not because they suspect fraud.  The denial will be based on being ineligible to petition.

Not wanting to pay for an international flight is not an extreme hardship. I dont think anyone on this website looks forward to spending hundreds of dollars to go visit our loved ones but we make it work.

It sounds like to me that you dont know her very well. Plus, people change and not seeing someone since 2012 is a really long time. Take your time getting to know her better by visiting her. Give it a couple visits. I can tell you based on my k-1 experience COs are impressed by the amount of visits and time together you can produce. For us this was 3 years with 8 visits. This may be a little much, but the COs were very satisfied about our relationship. Do the best you can with visits.

Bottom line, dont file the k-1 now. You're just throwing away money you could use to actually see your fiancee

The immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and...........MONEY.   In my opinion, you have not described extreme hardship..........you will have to buckle down, and let go of some money for a visit to see her.........and preferably, several visits......before you file.  Good Luck.

From her perspective:  If my fiancé had ever once said “I would rather save the money than SEE you”, well, we definitely wouldn’t be married.

You have to put in the effort.  It’s expensive, yes.  It’s not always easy to coordinate the time, yes.  But it’s worth it.

Besides, phone calls and texts are great and all, but can you truly have a solid relationship ready for marriage with someone you haven’t seen in 6-7 years?  People change all the time.

OP,  my then boyfriend (now husband) came to see me in Argentina during our relationship 3 times. The last time he did it was after he had lost his job (I helped with half of the ticket). Then when he went back home he found a job and we did the K1.  If you have not seen this person in the last few years, you will need to invest the time to meet again and see if anything changed in your relationship because people change during the years, you know?

To be successful, the US Embassy will want to see LOTS of facetime together.  You may have to make multiple visits.  You have to show a bona fide relationship.  One visit to get engaged is often a red flag that leads to a visa denial.

This is not going to be easy.  This is going to be expensive.

I concur. An I-129F would have a zero chance of approval under those circumstances.
