No issue at all, your theory is not valid since he is not a citizen yet, he can still travel with his passport and green card

Passing the interview doesn’t mean he’s a citizen.
he has to attend his oath ceremony in order to get his US passport.

at the path ceremony he will get a certificate of naturalization and they will take his green card. So until he has his naturalization certificate in hand… he’s still an alien.

I'm wondering the same as Crazy Cat, did he take the oath? The interview itself doesn't make anybody a citizen. They take the greencard from you when you go for your oath ceremony.

Interview done! The oath ceremony is scheduled for January 25th!! Whew, one more week and my journey will be over!
My I-751 was approved as well, however, when i check my status, only N-400 shows updates (last one - Oath ceremony notice was mailed). Is that normal?
    Also, DaveandAnastasia, happy birthday!

Ok guys this is it! I am officially a US citizen 🎉🎉🎉 oath ceremony took place at the Federal Plaza room 310 at 1 on 1/11, my husband accompanied me but was not allowed into the room, I first made a line where I provided my appointment letter signed and dated, along with my old green card and work permit, they gave me the certificate, checked that everything was correct and then was asked to go into room 300 cause 310 was full, they gave us two envelopes, one with a letter from President Biden congratulating us and the other a USCIS package with instructions on life as a citizen, passport application, national anthem, pledge of allegiance and oath of allegiance and a tiny US flag, after that an officer gave a speech from the other room which we watched on a big screen, we all said the oath in unison, they congratulated us, we cheered and clapped and off we went, they asked us if we wanted to take pictures next to a US flag to go to the second floor and we all did, I waved both of my flags 🇺🇸🇩🇴 and I’m so damn happy and proud to finally being an American, it’s been my dream for as long as I can remember and it finally happened, if anyone would know about my immigration story, they would understand how important this achievement was for me and for all of us immigrants that came to this country full of hopes and dreams that are unfolding for us all. The entire process took about maybe 1/2 hr so it was quick, I took longer dolling up lol I looked like a congresswoman 😁to all of you still waiting I wish nothing but speed and good luck with your new American lives 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
ps: I am learning the lyrics to the national anthem from that uscis pamphlet and will upload it to tiktok, will sing it better than fergie 😬 if you find it you find it 🤭

    Good luck amigos 👍🏽 🍀

A Green Card will not prevent them from being pulled into secondary.  I think your logic is faulty.  A Green Card is for living in the US.

    Hello July 2021 Filers,

Updating the thread that we have now been issued a USCIS Form N-4405 Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony for January 2023.

This would be a few days over 18 months to the day from the filing of I-751 Removal of Conditions via Lockbox and assigned to LIN Nebraska for processing.

This would be a few days over 6 months to the day from the filing of N-400 Application for Naturalization via Online and processed in Seattle, WA.

You can see more details in my timeline.

The journey is almost over and we are very grateful and appreciate all of you in this forum for keeping us company along the way.

    1. Nobody has a right to anything, moreso, those naturalized. You've started the "right" game way too early. Pipen down.
    2. You talked to Tier 1. It seems you're new to the Tier 1 carousel.
    3. You still maxed out your stay till she naturalized. That's the bold factor.

Same here and my spouse still hasn’t fixed his tax return for that year 4 years ago. If I had come to this forum first I may have unnecessarily freaked out and tried to make him amend it (which looks like it takes several months now) and delay our process but up to OP what he wants to do.

I guess I'm not, because that's exactly what I did.  I filed single, and amended my return after my spouse and stepdaughter were in the USA.  Consular officers see this every day and simply ignore it because they understand why it is done.  The IRS doesn't care about overpayment of taxes.  Seriously, I've been around this since 2005, and have see zero evidence that filing single has any impact on the spouse immigration process.  Have you??????????

People have sent applications with no pictures and have been approved. That being said, knowing myself, I would add the details. In fact, I’d get rid of your attorney and continue on your own.

    Lemme sum it up:
    1. You have been told how to submit evidence. You can submit anything apart from videos / anything on flash drives etc. So, take statics of the video of you want.
    2. Once you're satisfied, because that's what you want, concentrate on your divorce.
    3. I would not even be talking to the lady about you doing 1 above because she can use it and twist it against you to justify why she divorced you.
    4. I'd suggest heal and then try dating and marrying closer to home, someone without need for immigration paperwork.

If you want sidechat, PM me. I can tell you about a divorce that happened this year, a friend, same story. I can tell you how he went through it. He did pay an attorney but results are the same. So, instead of you paying an attorney, I can give you the specifics and you can then choose if it worth huffing and puffing.

"..continue abuse..," what are you talking about? I've just been asking questions on whether or not to hand in screenshots of violations of work authorization, and I have conceded that nothing will most likely come of it.

You people just seem bent on framing me as an unrepentant murderer of innocent orphaned children and the elderly, or something equally hellish. Christ. What's wrong with you people.

A few folks here seem extremely bias towards sponsors and American citizens. Jesus.

It's hard to focus on salient advise when it's peppered with constant reflexive damaging assumptions and prejudgements.

    Ridiculous.

There is no requirement to naturalize and no specific date to apply for N-400. You can live entire life as green card holder if you want.

It would be unfair to tell them that it won't be a problem when we have seen many, many couples over the years denied for this very reason. Just because in your opinion you don't think it won't be an issue, does not make it true. I've been around for over a decade and I have personally seen people denied for this. And this is fact, not opinion.

Just a quick update: N400 interview scheduled on 12/8/2022. It's combo interview for both I751 and N400. Officer did asked for USC spouse to come in and interview both of us.I751 interview really simple since our case is solid. N400 was the same: standard civil test questions, Yes and No questions on the N400 form, then reading and writing on the tablet. Status changed to oath ceremony will be scheduled 30 mins after we left Dallas field office.

Dad and sis each file I-130 for you.

You leave to wait out your 10 year ban.  At the end of which  your visa number based on your dad’s petition should be current.

Become a student of the visa bulletin https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-december-2022.html

As you see, unless you are from the Philippines, it is better if your Dad doesn’t become a U.S. citizen.  If your Dad becomes a citizen, he must notify USCIS.

If you remarry, your Dad has to file a new I-130. At that point your visa number based on your sister’s petition will might come through first.

A green card is for living in the US.  Your LPR status does not have to be "surrendered," in your case you abandoned it when you decided to live in another country for 7 years.  Renewing your green card while living abroad smells like fraud to me, why risk the consequences of that?  If you would like to live in the US, ask one of your USC parents to file an I-130 to petition for you, the process will only take 1-2 years.
