I wouldn't get your hopes up on this one.  If you are within 'normal processing time' anything you do is a total waste of energy.  Don't call the 800 number.  Don't try and connect with a Tier 2 officer like many on this website would suggest (I fell for that gag... T2s are absolutely useless).  Also, don't log into your online uscis account.  Not hourly.  Not daily.  Not weekly.  FORGET YOUR STINKING PASSWORD !!!
 
Are you listening?  Can you hear me?  All the above is a TOTAL... WASTE... OF... YOUR... FREAKING... TIME !!!  Save yourself a lot of aggravation.
 
Unfortunately you just have to wait it out.  Hopefully you don't get beyond the normal processing time window without an answer.  If this happens, you can make an online inquiry.  I would also contact your local congressman NOW and have things queued up and ready to go should you need his/her involvement later (i.e. one day after your normal processing time window has passed).  I have a couple of sources that tell me if you are beyond the normal processing time window and your congressman's immigration attorney sends an inquiry on your behalf that usually pushes things along rather quickly.  So I am told.
 
Throughout this entire process, you need to learn one maxim when it comes to the whole immigration process.  The uscis is the fly in the ointment, the proverbial monkey wrench, the king-sized hemorrhoid in your life.  They have zero transparency and every CSR I have spoken with couldn't be more unhelpful or unfriendly.  Well... except for one young guy... not a T2... who actually thanked me for being so polite if you can believe it.  I am not kind to the uscis here on VJ but I understand you catch more flies with honey so I have been calm, civil and pleasant when I have been on the phone with them.  Apparently this young guy has come across some pretty aggressive characters on the phone.  Regrettably he was of no help to me and the T2 he connected me with told me nothing... nathan... nada.  Hence, my advice you don't frustrate yourself by actually calling these guys.

SJordanS... one other maxim... pay no attention to that VJ timeline.  VJ likes to suggest a date range when your case may (operative word) be adjudicated.  May... may... may.  Your case may be adjudicated between <from date> and <to date>.  And there may be roses blooming in the Arctic Circle.  And I may be as entertaining as Tom Cruise singing Old Time Rock 'n' Roll in Risky Business.
 
The problem is the VJ timeline's success rate may not be bad if you're a major league hitter but stinks otherwise.

True, but a writ of Mandamus applies to all Federal agencies including US Embassies; not just USCIS. OP, the writ doesn't force the agency to approve your case; it only forces them to make a decision so suing can go in your favor or against you. But technically you can sue and in your case I think 3 years waiting in AP sounds like a probably cause to sue, if you have already exhausted all channels like senators, ombudsman etc etc. 
Where is your case currently? USCIS, NVC or USEM? Fill your timeline so we better answer your questions based on that.

She's just giving you an example. You probably won't wait a lifetime but she's saying no matter how long it is in AP,  you have no basis to file any sort of lawsuit. I'd suggest just living your life and put it to the back of your mind.

I attended my husband's interview in Amman and they interviewed me, as well. It's allowed in Jordan.

I emailed them recently, to embassy in Amman, & petitioners are allowed in interview.

Yes CR1 can be denied / our 1st CR1 denied in 2011 and i had 3 trips of 1 month,  2 months (to marry) and a 3 month for Ramadan trip already 
that was the CR1 i appealed and won / and i was there outside the embassy for this interview and went to the window to talk to someone just after Adil came out.   I was actually told that the packet had already gone back to the US which could not have been possible

This K1 had only a 2 week visit together and that is the way Casa looks at it   / as a 2 week vacation / when the customs don't allow dating it is pretty hard to get to know a person in 2 weeks/  when the religions are different ,  it is pretty hard to see and understand what that means in daily life to a Muslim
when the ages are a big difference,  there is a huge difference in types of music,  movies,  style of clothing ,  and so many other things that can interfer later in a solid relationship (so don't say age is just a number / it is a lot more)
For a successful interview These are things you will need to overcome Now for a new interview and later for a successful marriage so don't take any of the above lightly.
 
Adil and I have a big age gap/  we are married now 9 years/  we have worked on all these things but it has helped that i converted to islam before meeting him.  YOur gf does not have to convert but you will need to show in an  interview that she understands your religion and you understand hers.
 
You 2 need to get your act together (just a phrase) and do what is needed to continue this relationship.  i had 5 trips all over a month before being approved.  
to avoid the dreaded ds5535 make your gf the prioity / be careful of friendships,   facebook postings,   what you watch on youtube, and who u talk to on every phone you are able to use
again "don't take this lightly"

Well heck then I must be in the line that’s marked 15 items or less, cash, only but everyone has a full cart, the checker is half blind, with arthritis, getting price checks on every item and the customer has coupons and a checkbook PLUS we bag our own grocery. Thats the line Im currently in.

I more of liken it to a massive grocery store with a hundred checkout lanes. Some go faster than others. Some people choke up the line with slow or insufficient payment. Sometimes something doesn't scan and everybody has to wait longer.
 
There's always another line going faster than yours. There's always another line going slower than yours.
