    Thanks for the info.

i called them this morning because USPS notified me that my package was delivered on 5/05 and have not heard anything from USCIS.

The customer service representative told me that is too soon for them to confirm if they accepted my case. She also said it’s taking them up to 15 days to send out the text/email with the confirmation and case number for those who included the form G-1145, and another 15 days to send out the NOA. That means we will have to wait up to a month since the packages are delivered to receive the letter.

Dude used financial support to threaten you, he has long prepared for this mess. Don’t worry about financial support much, it is a myth that the government ever asks for reimbursement. You also make it clear if he milks the government assistance, he will close his door to citizenship in the future due to public charge. Based on your words, I don’t think you will have a chance to stay with him due to his sexual personality. File a divorce and restraining order against him. ROC is his problem, you can’t get green card back. Good luck.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. Moving back home seems like a good thing to do.

If you really have hard proof that he used you to finance his PhD, I would certainly send this evidence to USCIS - along with the documents that you have regarding his arrest and domestic violence, and write an affidavit explaining what lead to the domestic assault (that he was trying to bully you into staying married, threatening financial ruin etc).
Once you have sent this off, move on and focus on your life - file for divorce, and don't look back.
It's not in your hands what USCIS will do with the evidence, but he might face some scrutiny during his ROC process. He will be able to file for ROC without you with a divorce waiver.
Leave him and his immigration journey alone, and focus on healing

I think it's an amazing idea. Changing times call for changing ways we do things. Ceremonies are exactly what it is : ceremonial.
No need holding up people's citizenships just because of a ceremony.

The President said the cases of Covid 19 would be soon back to zero last February. And look at us now. Corona virus has changed everything we were used to.

I don't care a bit to attend the oath ceremony in person. This pandemic situation is with us at LEAST until the end of this year and USCIS should adapt. They can't just sit and go to the "freeze mode". Those who want to attend in person can be given the option to wait for a few months and possibly in 2021 when things are settled to have oath ceremony but the rest can be done virtually similar to Australia oath ceremony.

Congratulation on your MBA but the comparison is not really valid. Your diploma already saying that you are graduated, but people who applied for citizenship are still waiting.

This is an unusual situation and requires new and different approach for almost everything. We are not sure when this will end or how. That's why we need to adapt with the current.

Just realized my receipt case starts with #EAC which is Vermont. Is there any particular reason why cases are sent to different Service Centers? Are some of them known for being more slower than others? Thanks!
I sent my forms to Dallas from New York.

Agreed with this - I too have spent time trying to update my timeline since I apparently didn't do each detail as it happened. In our case, for filing the I-751, we sent it to Arizona and now it's being processed at LIN (Nebraska). Not sure what is best to put down in this case...

The priority date should be blank. We are very lucky that it is blank because what it signifies is there is basically an unlimited number of green cards for spouses of U.S. Citizens.

Brothers/Sisters of U.S. Citizens or spouses of Permanent Residents get a priority date when they apply for their green cards through this process -- similar to the ticket you get in the DMV indicating your place in the queue. Then you wait. And wait. And wait till your number  (i.e priority date) becomes "current". When it becomes current, you can then put in your actual green card application. If you were in the employment based green card queue, your priority date would be related to when your forms were filed. After that you could be looking at a 10-20 year wait for your priority date to become current.

    We should count ourselves lucky!

When I try to edit my timeline for the I 751 the options given are California or Vermont for CIS Service Center Lifting Field. But I sent my package to Texas.
How does it work then ? Thanks

Nothing you mentioned prevents him from petitioning a spouse.
At the same time, I would also be sure to know the details of the history as you may be asked about extensively it to be sure you are aware of what you are getting into. Two years is not a long time, and more hiccups are likely to follow.

The only way to find out is go ahead and file for him... It's going to be a long immigration journey, you would probably get bounced off a couple of service centers (Vermont or Nebraska)  in the end you will find out if you will get it or not...once the petition is approved the rest is easy.
Just incase it's not maybe you both should think about making your home somewhere else besides Canada or America... Australia, 27 EU countries plus Germany, New New Zealand are fine countries too

Chileanhere got a reaction from Brazil/US2018 in No Stimulus check for Husband????
According to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, non-U.S. citizens with a Social Security number who live and work here, including green card holders and workers using visas such as H-1B and H-2A, are eligible to receive checks.
“Non-resident aliens” who do not have green cards will not receive them.
For what I understand from this info published in the internet, unfortunately your spouse would not receive the stimulus check because he is not a green card holder yet. Being a US citizen or being a green card holder are the only requirements stated (besides the income cap).

If you're saying what I think you are, I second that.
We sent ours regular USPS priority on Tuesday 14th and it arrived the morning of Friday 17th. From Raleigh, NC to Pheonix, AZ...about as far as you can possibly go in the continental US. Don't waste money on expedited shipping.

USCIS or NVC or USEM doesn't care who pays the fees as long as it's paid and it doesn't bounce. Every relationship has it's own dynamics so how one goes about the payment of fees should be based on proper communication and trust.

It’s going to be a decision that each couple makes themselves. If we were in that situation,  I wouldn’t be sitting with “ it’s your immigration not mine.. you pay for it “. My thoughts would be it’s “ our” immigration... “ our “ life choice ... “ we“ will pay for it together.  But that’s just me.
