Thanks. She let me know what she meant, that illegals are coming here, having "anchor children" that are USC who will end up voting. She has a problem with that (US born children of immigrants eventually voting for Democrats). So basically, democracy is her gripe.

They do invoke feelings of love and acceptance to me. They are human after all. I'll leave it to courts to determine whether or not they have a legit case. In the mean time I'll continue to show compassion and love for people who to me look tired, scared, and lonely.

My reaction is that these are asylum seekers, not illegals. I think that CPB needs to put resources back at the bridges to process regular visitors and asylum seekers much faster. I don't like waiting in lines either, but at least I'm in an air conditioned car, and get to return to my safe, air conditioned home.

I don't understand how one could be going through this process without understanding the terminology, or mumbo jumbo as you refer to it. Those terms are pretty easy to understand, especially with the internet. All it takes is a google search. And I'm not sure how confusion about those terms led to OP being arrested.

I'm Christian. Never was taught that in Sunday school. Pretty sure a women in this day and age in the USA can do as she pleases without her husbands permission.

For the Ready Lane each person has to either have  a passport card, sentri, global entry, nexus, enhanced drivers license or Green Card.
 
For the Sentri Lane you have to have your car registered and each person has to have sentri, global or nexus cards.
 
We use Sentri when we come back from Mexicali since Mary has Global Entry and I have Nexus and the car is registered.   When we come back fro Puerto Penasco we use the ready lane since there is no Sentri.

Simple answer is it's because that's what the elected officials of that state wanted.
 
Some states choose to make it difficult for those without legal stay - possibly hoping to discourage them from settling there. Other states treat it as a fact that they are already there and it's better for everybody for them to be able to drive & - importantly - get insurance.

No issue - we do it at least once a month.   With a Green Card you can even use the Ready Lane.

No need of any other docs.

Hi. The specific posts I was referring to were not providing opposing viewpoints or negative information with regard to OPs post. I didn't report the posts, as I felt there was nothing to report other than my not wanting to see that post, which I felt they had every right to post and was therefore me being sensitive. That is why I wanted to choose to block them from my feed. Now I've learned, after the posts were deleted by VJ mod, again, without my reporting them, that these types of posts are called "non-contributory".
 
So, to answer your questions, no I do not believe it is better to have these non-contributory posts polluting VJ, and possibly keeping people from reading useful advice.

Understood. Sure wish they would take their position of authority into account when posting in their unofficial capacity, or make a separate account for moderation. It can get confusing when they are both a very opinionated poster, and a moderator. Although everyone has a right to their opinion. Don't want to officially complain about someone (its not you), fearing the backlash, which is why ignoring them is such a useful feature. I'll just put my big boy pants and suck it up. Today our visa status’ turned to issued! And it’s all because of the help and advice you gave! You guys are amazing, I honestly don’t even think I can put it into words how thankful I am for your help. @Wuozopo  the example letters you gave literally Turned this whole thing around I believe.  Both yours and @Greenbaum knowledge on all this have got us to this stage and we are so grateful. We’ve not had to hand any of what was requested.  They didn’t inform us they was sorting it, it literally just changed to NIV AP Tuesday and issued today!

Thank you. I realize I sort of hijacked OPs thread, but greatly appreciate the information.

Actually, for context, the document is part of the CUNY site for Citizenship Application Assistance that is provided by the university for individuals to apply if they qualify.  Nothing in the document mentions anything about undocumented immigrants at all, though the rights technically remain the same.

I've not read through the entire document, but it does appear to be a reasonably good guide for immigration, along with pointers to where to turn if you have concerns and/or further questions.

For those in the NY Metro area, of note is the fact that they (CUNY) also offers free immigration assistance.
