@sandranj I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's passing, may her soul rest in peace. We may not always understand the ways or plans of the Lord, but His plans for us are always better in the long run. @MGJ_NY I seriously cannot even believe this right now. I am now just reading your post. How is this even possible? We applied right about the same time, so I just assumed that you had received your approval notice and your C31 card. Some people who filed in 2019 have received their C31 cards. Were you able to reach your rep yesterday? You can pm me anytime ok.

My priority date on my approval notice shows as 2017, so do I start counting from priority date or from the date Vawa was approved?

@Ylx Congratulations. It means exactly what it says in the section part of the letter: self-petitioning spouse of U.S.C or L.P.R, we talked about this when I received my letter, remember? Now, we wait for the GC 🙂

I believe Corona virus played in my favor. It seems like they are cleaning their desks to reduce a backlog.

I've filed I-485 on November 20,  2019 with medicals, hoping that it will speed up the process.

My VAWA was approved February 14, 2019 after 2 years of waiting. Before that my first I-485 was denied and I've never even had an interview in a first place.

That is a blessing, that I wish for all of you awaiting your VAWA approval and Green cards.

Let's hope we will see more approvals coming our way!

Priority date doesn't matter after vawa approval. Mine is. Nov 2016. They will just add your case on the line in order of VAWA approval. And if your local office is not overcrowded with VAWA cases then your i-485 will be processed fast enough.
