100 hryvnas to check cellphones and large bags across the embassy into trucks. They look kinda sketchy, but it seems to be perfectly safe. I had no issues with my phone. It is ok to take wallet with you.

Cheapest way is to carry with you in luggage. You are allowed 2 checked bags 23kg each, and 8 kg carry on per person but some airlines (Turkish in my experience) will allow you to bend rules a little, still even paying for extra/oversized luggage will be cheaper than shipping in most cases. If you are going there, that means you can help schlep  her things stateside by traveling there as light as possible.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks Greenbaum for catching it and your explanation is totally correct and what I was trying to say, but clearly not well.

While i see your point, the directions give you an option. I'm not sure what your concern is.  Just put the annual income the sponsor can show that's above the minimun. Nothing says you must have other assets or real estate, etc.

Maybe tomorrow will be the day. Definitely all of us with NOA2 dates between the 4th and the 8th of February need to call tomorrow evening after 5 or 6pm. We are very due for good news. we've all missed two shipments already, I don't want to imagine missing a 3rd.

First I would send the 30 dollar fee to the address on the letter Via a money order/cashier check. Get your account Cleared first. Then about a week later I would send in the I-129 again with the payment via Cashier Check. Cashier checks can't be returned for NSF, only in extreme cases will they not be honored. This way you don't have to rely on any Financial Institutions saying NSF. A cashiers check is just like sending cash, so is the Money Order. With a personal check or credit card you run the risk of those being declined. I did a Cashier Check with my I-129 ( Credit card wasn't available yet), but I just filed AOS with my credit card and the payment processed no problem. From how I read the letter they want the 30 dollar fee separate from the payment for your I-129F, and if it is one thing I have learned is follow their instructions to the letter, as they are very literal in their meaning. For example if you try to send your I-129F with the 535+30 making the check 565 they will probably reject it again for the wrong payment amount, or even if you include 2 separate checks for 535 and then 30, they will have no idea what the 30 extra is for, and reject again. These people are like robots, and do not have the ability of rational thought, they have the rules, and they follow them.

Also as a note, if you use a credit card some might decline a 500 plus dollar transaction depending on the settings on your account, so make sure the credit card knows you have a large payment posting after you mail the package. Unless you do a lot of large transactions on the card, but to be safe give them a heads up.

This website is absolutely the best there is for this process but so much more stuff should be automated like every month a new forum should be created with general information like the one Greenbaum posts for every NOA2 to NVC thread. Or an easy calendar or map where you can see lets say your friends where they are in the process instead of clicking on the user then go to their timeline.

But, i am actually just thinking of creating something personal where people can track their documents and their process based on their situation. For instance when you have to file I-129F there is a list but so much stuff that is not applicable to you. There is much more stuff on there that you need to do like if you have a criminal record what do you need to do. Or if you have 2 kids you need to prepare documents for each. So what I want to do is to give a list of requirements that would fit most of the people and then each user would add more to that or remove the once that are not related to them. Then each of those requirements would have a check list that once completed you would mark. That is what i did on a piece of paper but having that on a phone or a site it would be so much better and more convenient. And each task like Letter of intent would have links right in it to the forums and examples.

I would not want to recreate a site like this but adding check points with tracking would be an amazing add to this site. Maybe once this process ends for me I can talk to developers of this site and see if I can add my idea to this site. Kind of like Igors list. I am not sure but I think that is just a plug in that uses database that some Igor designed. I am also assuming he went through the same process of immigration and had an idea to add that chart that every one uses right now.

If Greenbaum ever gets tired of hanging around here, this site would fall apart. The mods need to start working on building a better information database for one, but yes, automating the creation of these threads would be an awesome feature.

I'm sure you are fine. It was an honest mistake, and you only got the month wrong. I don't know what sort of information or how much they take note of, but if it is ever brought up just be honest and let them know you got the month wrong the first time by accident. As long as you are in a genuine relationship there is no need to worry.

I wouldn't worry about social media. Could they check it? Sure. But it's the most unreal thing out there. I'm pretty sure if FaceBook content was the sole reason for approval alone, 90% of approved couples would be eliminated. Both my fiancée and I have no social media accounts. What I would say is more important (to make yourself feel more at ease) is preparing to answer any type of questions regarding why you would both leave your statuses as single. Religious reasons, cultural traditions, mutual decision...etc. There are other routes you could go as far as ample evidence. We have call records for cellular and skype, evidence of personal emails (just the approved non-offensive subject lines), and personal greeting cards for birthdays/holidays/random gifts. Re-print Airline Tickets and hotel rooms. I would focus less on what doesn't tie you together and start coming up with paths that do. The forums can have some great advice but some of it can be misguided or people can be misinformed. Society has been able to confirm marriages or relationships far before FaceBook.

It's only a date and it doesn't have an affect on any part of the process to the interview and to visa issuance. The only thing that most people use that date for is to update their timeline here on VJ.

But it asks for the number that was assigned by USCIS (so the WAC# in our case). I just finished filling out my DS-160 this morning so this is fresh in my mind.

It's hard to say what I think here. I agree not to get married, but you have a lot of responsibility.

She predicated her actions on the fact that you signed a document stating that you wanted to marry her.

You got cold feet for whatever reason, but chose not to contact USCIS and cancel the Visa.

If it was me, I would give her a plane ticket, a few months lost pay, some extra money for expenses while she is in USA.
I'd look at it that I would rather pay too much for my mistake, than f...k someone over because I was clueless.

But then I pride myself on being responsible and honorable.

That makes sense, since we have some states that no one would get married if they couldn't marry a cousin!

The legality of marriage between first cousins is decided at the state level.  K-1 applicants intending to marry a first cousin  can be denied if it is not legal in their state of residence.

So, I there appears to be a lot of speculation point to the belief it looks/appears no have been a wedding. However, at this point there is not definitive reason. HMM1234 is asking about his brother. Perhaps he is unaware if was AP or what. I did not here him say airlines tickets, boarding passes, or copies of visa from passport were sent with pictures. I’m sure many of us who have came near interview or visa has said “If what I know now, I had known when I started it would have been, less stressful, easier, and quicker to do”
I truly believe this thread has a powerful point.  Don’t Do Anything that has any kind of resemblance to a wedding, being official or whatever. If you live in like Texas, and have a BBQ and the preacher shows up because he’s always ready for some ribs & brisket—some CO from Vermont is going to say “looks like a wedding to me”

Just be very careful what your family events look like.

Sounds like you need more information from brother so folks here a better picture of what the issues might be a best way to deal with it.

What Ann & James said is the best answer “There is no appeal for K1 visa. Before thinking about apply again they should find out why they were denied so they can overcome this”.

    First define the problem.
