I actually got a notification that you updated your timeline because our stats are similar.  That you're in the LA office as well and got an interview so soon really give me hope.  Congratulations!  That's so quick!

I tried finding the original K-1 Aug 2018 thread, but I think maybe it is best to be left to its slumber.
Today, 16-Sept-2019, Conditional Green card came in the US Post, cementing status of Lawful Permanent Resident issued a week earlier at the end of our interview conducted at 09-Sept-2019, 1 year 1 month after I-129F was received by USCIS on 09-Aug-2018

Attached is detailed timeline from I-129F filing to GC delivery. Special thanks to VJ admins for keeping the site running, old time members of various degrees of grumpiness with hearts of gold, and everyone else willing to support each other. Good luck to everyone still going through their journey and those who are just beginning.

    NYC Manhattan Filer here!

    Filed on June 29, 2019, NOA July 1, 2019.

Just received an update that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview (Sept 6 2019). Now the super long wait begins because the processing time for NYC is the highest in the country!

For me it’s not so much about not having things to do, I’ve got plenty of activities to fill my day and since I’ve lived here for 3 years already (on F1 before AOS) I have an established circle of friends and know my way around. It’s more about not being able to do certain things and not having that control of your life - such as the aforementioned inability to update my ID or apply for jobs on a very serious note since there’s no guarantee when I’ll have the card in my hand.

You can sit at “ready to schedule interview” for months and months. When you get to “interview scheduled” it seems to be about 4-5 weeks from interview date with an appointment letter showing up about a week after status change.

I think is made closer to the interview. Like one month before the interview. The longer wait is between biometrics and interview

Just went into Application Support Center in Revere, MA. Guy was really rude and said nah can’t do it come back on 11th when I told him repeatedly I won’t be here. Dont know whether to try again next week or just reschedule...

Book your office appointment at the DMV now.  A lot of them in the Los Angeles area are booked through November right now.  I had to have my appoinment in Pasadena and it was a 7 week wait for it.

They accepted my unexpired I-94.  They require 60 days left on it and I had less than that, I assume that's why.

Both the old and new sites can be hit or miss as far as updating.  Many people with AOS pending still say "case received" from their I-129f.

Yes we can be quick to judge - as a sufferer of massive abuse immediately on landing, there was almost no way for me to hop on a plane back.

The slow letting go of my business in home country over time for a variety of reasons including his possessiveness from the time we met, married and then waited for visa
The wrapping of all I had - giving away stuff I had worked for and built over years
Losing all my rather substantial savings during the visa process - long story of how it was related
Social reason can be very big for some of us
My 'home' country is actually a third country and ending all ties there - restarting very expensive.  Not having any times to country of passport
    Boiled Frog syndrome is real...

Not all of us take action when we see red flags - some of us come from cruel upbringing, abusive past marriage etc

and oh some of us really and truly have got attached (may I say fallen in love)... can be very very difficult to let it go

Be aware that if you go to secondary review, you'll have a wait.  I applied for AB 60 on Aug 14, they sent copies of my passport and residency docs to secondary review and now I have to wait for a letter with an interview date at, what the DMV tells me, is a very busy office that may be booked far into the future.  And THEN I'll have to wait for another letter in order to book a behind the wheel test which in my area (LA) is likely a few months wait.  Plus side - the AB 60 is good for 5 years and you may not get a secondary review.  You're right though, it's not strictly for illegals and if your documentation is in order, it isn't "risky" in the least.

Many people in this situation are sill concerned about their status in the US, that’s the entire reason the U and T visas exist, to remove the fear or retribution. Even if the situation isn’t ideal, sometimes people want to stay. Other times it’s not just about staying in the US, but making sure they have legal status and don’t have to worry about getting picked up by ICE. Human traffickers often use threats and fear mongering to keep their victims from speaking up. I had a recent case of a restaurant owner who would play news footage and share reports about the camps people are being held in and told his victims that’s that where they would end up if they ever went to the authorities.

So yeah, I don’t think her asking about her immigration concerns (ON AN IMMIGRATION FORUM) make this story any less believable. I work for one of the smallest US Attorneys Offices in the country, and we get multiple cases like this every year.

Don't wait the 2 weeks.  I went 4 days after US entry and before wedding. They said there was a mismatch and I required manual verification.  I had the card in my mailbox 3 weeks to the day from my visit to the office.

After I had my marriage certificate I went back to change the card to my married name also with a mismatch requiring manual verification.  Had the new card in 2.5 weeks.

There's another thread on this right now:
I'd recommend that if you know when your husband is going to be arriving in California, that you set up an appointment ASAP to take the tests. Most locations you are looking at 1 month or more wait for an appointment. If driving is imperative for your husband (and hello, we live in California so... probably?  ) then you should get your ducks in a row for him now. And yes, a written and behind the wheel test is required.

Thank you so much everyone for your help, advice and experience! It is an absolute mess of a system, you’d think after going through the chaos of the Visa process, I’d be used to this by now! I’m going to walk into the local DMV tomorrow (I checked and they do licenses! Thanks for the heads up though!) and just wait in line. It’s a lot easier than waiting the 2 months! I’m still applying for work so I’m not desperate for a car yet and I’m within walking distance of the shops etc, so I’ll make sure I get everything right as I don’t want to land up in any trouble for something that is totally avoidable once made clear! I wish there was clearer communication between USCIS and the DMV!

You cannot drive on your UK license legally after 10 days of arrival in California.  For the DMV, and more importantly, the local police, residency is about intent.  USCIS rules don't matter to them.  Though I am insured using my Canadian License on our family vehicles, I cannot legally drive them here without a California license.  I'm still waiting for my AB 60 paperwork to come through (haven't yet received EAD or GC)

You must sit both the written test and the behind the wheel test even with a foreign license.  And yeah, the wait times for a DMV appointment around here are insane.
