AnnJacks reacted to Lynxyonok in Affordable way to get to Russia from the US as American citizen
Air Serbia is about to start Chicago - Belgrade - Moscow route (or in your case - Krasnodar or - Kazan, then using a local carrier). Aside from clumsy layover durations in Belgrade, it is a pleasant airline to take.

No worries/no pressure.
There are ways to get to Russia: that said, if you can wait a bit, more venues will open up.

One more: https://www.flightradar24.com/airport/svo/arrivals - substitute Sheremet'evo with your airport - you can see who's actively landing from overseas.
Do realize this: Russian airlines do not post tickets more than a couple months out ---> it looks like there's no competition ---> foreign airlines jack up prices.
If you could share the exact itinerary, I can help more.

Check Air Serbia. They are about to launch Chicago - Belgrade flights in May 2023.
Then onto Moscow, Kazan, Krasnodar from there.

The route Dubai to Novosibirsk was on Flydubai.

Since you are going from Chicago, you can fly direct to Dubai on Emirates.

My wife went in early September and flew Detroit to Miami to Dubai to Novosibirsk. It was more expensive than usual, but not too bad. The Dubai to Novosibirsk route was actually the most expensive and I think that flight was seasonal. Might be cheaper Dubai to Moscow.

Do you have a particular date range in mind? Take a look at splitting your journey somewhere, for instance, booking US->Turkey, Turkey -> Russia, or instead of Turkey, substitute Qatar, Dubai, Azerbaijan, Belarus... Turkish airlines still has flights to cities other than St Petersburg and Moscow a couple times a week.

There are flights less than $1000 in February from Toronto to Moscow round trip, if you can find a cheap way to get to Toronto (I’m sure there’s a bus).

AnnJacks reacted to Master5 in Transfer approved
I see, thanks! I have already emailed them. If they deny then I'm not sure what to do next. Our family is stuck in Russia because of this damn Schengen visa situation, unbelievable. My wife has no prior Schengen visa history and I heard that may be the problem. They's couldn't pick a harder location to get to for a Russian citizen than Warsaw.

AnnJacks reacted to Russ&Caro in Immigrants could be required to show credit scores if they want to stay in the U.S.
You didn't get a flu shot? 😮 That fact now goes onto your credit report.

AnnJacks reacted to mtempelaar in Immigrants could be required to show credit scores if they want to stay in the U.S.
My husband had no credit score on immigrating. I've worked my butt off to get him a credit score that is even better than mine but it took a couple of years. It's ridiculous requirement. Makes far more sense to run a credit report on people signing an affidavit of support.

AnnJacks got a reaction from whyIsloveHard in Second time on J1 got proposed to - please help i love him i don't want to make a mistake
Hi, you will have no problem to do AOS without leaving the country.
But of course you can choose to do K1 or CR1. Its 100% up to you:)

AnnJacks reacted to Unlockable in Immigration doesn't like if you met online?
Because it is not true.
Here is a bit of advice. You will have to brace yourself and start taking things you hear from people who are not professionals with a grain of salt. Now that you are involved in immigration you are going to keep hearing ridiculous rumors, stories, and theories.
I swear I heard some of the most stupid things in regards to immigration going through this journey with my now wife. Some of which made me question the intelligence of the people who told us.

AnnJacks reacted to Ksenia_O in Can fiance use visa without my permission?
Agree.
There is also a big chance she got cold feet or just scared.
I also was, once I got my passport with visa in hands... One thing is to know you will leave, one day. Another thing when the moment comes and and it's time to leave behind everything you've known for your entire life. For a lot of people this IS the moment when they truly realize how huge the change they are gonna make. So, she could be just scared to complete the change.
There have been stories here , on VJ, when people revoked application/petition and etc, being mad or upset with each other. And later were seeking for any help or advice how to un-do the damage they've done to their application or petition.
It is really difficult to "guess" what's going on with your partner, being so far way from each other...And I believe a serious and honest talk between OP and his Fiancee is needed, before any other actions are taken.

AnnJacks reacted to geowrian in USCIS New Policy
NVC issues checklists, not RFEs.
USCIS is the one with the recently-enacted policy regarding denials more often instead of RFEs. This has been discussed here extensively. It applies to so-called "placeholder" applications.
Yes, always be careful to submit a full and complete packet. Missing a required item may result in a denial instead of RFE (as has always been the case, but more often now). Missing supporting documentation should still result in an RFE.

AnnJacks reacted to EM_Vandaveer in B2 already engaged to USC for over 2 years can apply for AOS?
BS. I married my husband 11 days after entering the US & it was never brought up at the interview. 30/60/90 day is a Department of State "thing". USCIS is under the Department of Homeland Security.
-
AnnJacks reacted to geowrian in B2 already engaged to USC for over 2 years can apply for AOS?
The so-called 90 day rule has no bearing on AOS. USCIS does not follow FAM (from the DOS) guidelines. Multiple BIA court cases have upheld that intent cannot be the reason for denial of an I-485 for the IR of a USC.
-
AnnJacks reacted to Going through in B2 already engaged to USC for over 2 years can apply for AOS?
Intent is determined at the border. OP does not have to prove anything beyond that point (in terms of intent/no intent) for filing the AOS, or at the AOS interview afterwards. The adjudicating officers also know intent is determined at the border, so it cannot be brought into question at the interview.

AnnJacks reacted to Orangesapples in I have no income & no assets, will that affect my wife's chance to get a U.S. visa even if she has a joint sponsor?
It does have good information, yes, if you can filter all the unhelpful and rude posts.
All the unsolicited advice and judgment on his personal situation is not "the truth", it's just people's personal opinions and useless, irrelevant to immigration advice. The truth is that he can use his sister as a joint sponsor. Anything beyond that is not helpful or "the truth"
-
AnnJacks reacted to Orangesapples in I have no income & no assets, will that affect my wife's chance to get a U.S. visa even if she has a joint sponsor?
VJ is one of the most judgemental and least supportive communities out there. Also, it's not against TOS to chastise people asking for advice or to give useless, unsolicited life advice. So don't beat yourself up about the treatment you got here

AnnJacks reacted to pushbrk in Joint Sponsor Income & Poverty Line
Find a joint sponsor who IS qualified. The only way you can combine income is with a qualifying household member.
-
AnnJacks reacted to Jo Së in Joint Sponsor Income & Poverty Line
You don't combine what you make and what the joint sponsor makes. If you don't make the poverty guidelines requirement than you need a joint sponsor that meets the requirements regardless of what you make.
edit: for a single joint sponsor 125% would be at least $20,575
