I completely understand. I had our son and he wasn't able to be there for the birth and now my son is here and we are still waiting. My heart is breaking that our lives are in someone else's hands.

Day 215 here. So you’re not alone. Feeling the same way. Trying to stay positive for. It’s me and my fiancé. That magical NOA2 will all make this seem like distant memory once it arrives.

Iv been literally full of anxiety today, god knows what’s happening out there and how long will we have to wait to see a change of our status on that page (🤞 approval) , it is the most depressing time. No emails/ notifications/....etc for the past 6 months apart from the NOA1 notice. I haven’t seen my fiancée for nearly 2 years. This is really killing me. Iv never mentioned anything as such on here but now I can’t hold my emotions anymore 😭

You're not alone. I'm so tired of being strong.. I'm tired of living life on hold. I'm tired of not being able to make any permanent decisions right now because life is on hold. I am so tired, I've tried so hard to not be miserable about the process.. but it's just weighing so heavily on my shoulders. This is the most painful thing I've ever been through and I'm trying so hard to not fall apart.

Day 189... I need to hear something soon, we are starting to feel anxious as we have never been away for this long and we have other 4 months ahead.
I literally have had my life on hold for most of 2018 and it's driving me crazy. I need to buy things and I'm like "would this fit in my suitcase?"
Just a bad day, this whole process is a roller-coaster... Good luck to all of us!

aishabello reacted to Unshakable Faith in K1- Status changed to "non-immigrant"?
It hasn't changed at all yet, but we received an email stating:
"We write to inform you that your documents and photos has been returned May 3, 2018, to the DHL PICKUP Facility/GSS Document Collection Center – DHL, Plot 230 Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Please check with them to pick up your passport."
I'm praying that there's a visa inside!!

Beachbum, read NigeriaorBust's posts above, out loud, over and over until you believe them. She is wise in these matters and wise in general.

Actually. ..That's all I been getting by everyone I have a busy life and trying to answer everyone's emails. I appreciate your response though and it's been pure hell trying to marry him because of where he is and yes he don't make any money that's a terrible place his country and it's exhausting handling all of this I wish I had help, like a lot of help.

You paid $3000 for a guy you've never met? Was there a major natural disaster in Nigeria? Did you pay through a reputable charity? And now you want to marry him.
You totally deserve him. Wonders will never end...

Of course you can get bad eggs anywhere, the comment is about frequency.
To quote an Immigration Lawyer USCIS grades Consulates into 4 levels, Low, Moderate, High and Lagos.
He had set fees for most things, but not Lagos.

You make it sound like every Nigerian is bad.....I've seen so many Americans happily married to Nigerians for many years with no problem..... Every country has its bad eggs.....there r so many men and women in VJ happily married to Nigerians and other part of Africa with no issues. If one person is found wanting, it doesn't mean every other person should suffer Because of that
Thank you.

Nigeria is a very broken country. The British left it half a century ago and I think they forgot to leave the repair manuals behind. Yes there are some areas that area OK but usually as soon as the new wears off it quickly starts falling about. I would suggest you read the book " I do not come to you by chance" and then look up the group https://www.romancescam.com/ If you are still convinced that you are dealing with the real thing proceed slowly. Nigerians are known for bending rules to suit them and many don't give a second thought to spending hours online looking for a US person and convincing them to file for them so they can get to the US and in turn petition their spouse and children. ( Yes I did say spouse because the spouse will go into hiding for years if necessary to get that ticket to America ) It used to be that Nigeria was a country that could do the DV lottery and they have lost that path due to the number of people that immigrate here ( if they could have lost it due to the amount of fraud it would have been out of the lottery decades ago ) and now the only path for the average Nigerian is romance, real of fake. Be very careful. Even if it i real the cultural differences can be a killer.

I'm Nigerian as well but yes I agree with you.... She's lost $3000.00 I wonder how much more she wants to lose before she actually gets it and run for her life.

I hate these "hit and run" threads where the OP posts a weird story and then never replies or comes back.
