Got a letter in the mail today. Interview is on the 20th of December.

Hi all September AOS filers! I have been a silent observer since my K1 application, but moved to Texas in July this year. I just thought I would post my updates so far, as they have shocked me! 
I sent the entire AOS packet (along with EAD and AP) just before Labour Day weekend, and it was received on September 6th. I went ahead and got my driving license in August and then when my 90 days were up from my I-94, this expired! I was told this could not be renewed until my Social Security Card matched my new marital name (I already had my SSN from a previous J-1 Visa). For some reason this had been a huge problem for the people at the Social Security Office and they could not perform a simple name change due to immigration issues, and said to come back when I had my EAD or Green Card. 
 
Very much defeated I booked an appointment online with USCIS at the Dallas Field Office for that week...I guess I got lucky. The man who served me was understanding and actually put an expedite request in for me. He said he couldn’t guarantee that it would work, as it was still quite early and my timeline had suggested around late December/early January for my EAD/AP approval. Without much hope, I left and went back to waiting. However, 3 days later I checked my app and had been approved! I received my notice of action in the mail that week, and had my combo card in hand on Tuesday 6th November. 
 
My Green Card is now ready for interview, but who knows how long that could be. So, what I would say is, if you can get in at any field office...do it, because it was amazingly worth it for me!

Not since 2008.  I'm composing what will be a very long thread about that debacle, which still angers me 10 years later.
 
Expect to be separated and questioned separately (a Stokes interview), and for your answers to be compared.  Refuse to answer any questions about your sex lives; tell them that there are many other topics to discuss if they want to determine the bona fide nature of your relationship.
 
I highly recommend that you arrive in Ecuador a few days early and take fotos together (print them) and get receipts with your names on them from hotels, etc.
Get notarized letters from everyone who observed these, especially the living together.  Include their names, addresses, relationship to you (relative, friend, housemate, etc.), and phone numbers.

how many times have you met? is there a large age, religion or cultural difference that are red flags for that specific country?

Not a problem at all. My POE was Las Vegas, NV. We stayed there for 4 days having fun in the casinos and staying in a nice hotel. It was great after being apart for 6 months! 
 
Then we went to Idaho because it was the anniversary of my husband's sister's death and the family gathers there every year where her ashes were scattered. We stayed a few days there.
 
Finally, one week and two states later we went to Washington state where we live. 
 
You must provide the address where you will be living. But this is a free country and you are allowed to take vacations within it. 

The address you give the POE is the address you will LIVE.  Does not mean you need to go there immediately after arrival.  It means that you will live there and is your permanent address.  You are worried about NOTHING

And congrats for ur K1 visa in hands too!!! Now u will start ur life together!

In your scenario:
 
1- POE before in current state where u fiance live and go together to her graduation in CA!
 
2- Do POE in CA and bring proof that ur fiance is really living in the address u filled in the petition(or u intent to live there), (U can show your ticket returning to that state after graduation, formal invitation ) The officer could not ask but better have the reasons why... if they ask! just for be sure....

PS: i have read in other posts that is not a big deal(you know sometimes there are not direct flights or bla bla), but if i would be  u and decide do POE in CA just i would show u intent to live with ur fiance in the address u file(is the officer asks)....
 

@smcnally  Well they always say  if u change ur address please  notify USCIS...
 If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I think you have everything.  As a matter of fact way more that I had, so I think you are set.  Good Luck!!! 

You can travel anywhere in the USA, including Hawaii and Alaska. Just don't leave the country.
