I am pretty sure with the last year and continuous employment should be just fine. I can't seem to find any part on the i-864 instructions that state about the last 3 years. I might be wrong.

Yes, and explain that you met the visa requirements by marrying within 90 days but failed to maintain status.

At this point you are out of the time-frame to apply for a SSN. And people needs to know that NOT all SSA offices are well documented or prepared. In my case on our local SSA office I was told I need to apply for Residence (AoS) first/get the EAD (They probably thought I was asking for a SSN for work lol), It wasn't worth objecting and I just leave it at that. I'll just wait until the EAD to apply. There is no big deal either way on having it now or later.
@M&Ma - Reading the official USCIS instructions also help. You have to put: (c) (9)

no, it shouldn't cause any issues. Immigration has your file, and they know this is more common than anything with long names. My wife's name is also shortened in her SS card and immigration still send her file with complete full name on her EAD. Mine is also 4 names long and I don't use the full 4 names on all of my contracts and/or credit cards etc.
Thank you!

I have tried to look into this for a while but can't find anything for this scenario on the SSA POMS. Hope someone can help me on this.
I am soon about to apply for a SSN. I am male, holder of a K1 visa and already married. I really don't/won't need name change, however as you might know people in Hispanic countries when it comes to legal full names they use the following: NAME - MIDDLENAME - FATHERLASTNAME1 - MOTHERLASTNAME1 and I wish that on my SSN Card to be shown like NAME - MIDDLENAME - FATHERLASTNAME1 and any possible future contract, insurance, bank, taxes, etc. To be that way. But would something like this cause any issues with immigration purposes later on (ie. AOS, Removing conditions, Citizenship)?
All of my documents submitted to USCIS have had NAME - MIDDLENAME - FATHERLASTNAME1 - MOTHERLASTNAME1, only the i-94 show as NAME - FATHERLASTNAME1 - MOTHERLASTNAME1 -

Yes, you need to provide the income as stated on your taxes for the last 3 years.
Only the most recent year's tax return copy is required. The other 2 years are optional.
A little late. But thank you for your help!

Thank you both of you for the info! Really helpful!
@K1visaHopeful, I figured that would be the case and most likely they would ask me to do the medical entirely again. I have 5 options on my area. I am gonna call and see if they do.
So just to be sure @geowrian. The qualifying income and tax filling must be for the last 3 years. But for the i864 purposes you only need to submit 1-year of tax transcript?

I'll go ahead and ask a few, maybe unrelated, questions in this thread to keep it simple. We just recently got married (Oct 15th) and due some financial reasons we're not filing for AOS until mid-Jan 2019. That is about 3 weeks after the visa stay/i-94 expiration (Dec 19th). We are already discussed and are aware of the possible risks for AOS late filling.
1) I want to know if because of that late filling (after the 90 days/expired i94) we would need to file the Form i-130 and its fee, along with the AOS application?
2) Unrelated, I didn't take the vaccinations at the time of my medical exam overseas. Assuming I find an authorized civil surgeon by USCIS that fills Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9 of Form I-693 and do the vaccinations only. Is that all I need to send with the AOS? or do I need to do the medical exam entirely again? because of the new policy.
3) Unrelated, for the one of the evidence of the i-864 Affidavit of Support. Is the last 3 years of qualifying-income tax return or just the last 1-year of qualifying-income tax return that I needed?

Hi all! I called my embassy on Friday and found out my file had been sitting on someone's desk for days 😂 I should receive packet 3 tomorrow.
I have one question regarding DS-160 question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?" Should K-1 filers answer YES or NO? The sample form here on Visajourney says NO. But wasn't filing the i-129F with USCIS this (therefore, needing an answer YES)?
Thank you for any help.
In my case. I personally took it very literal, "Has ANYONE EVER filed" and by "anyone" I also considered my fiancee, so I answered YES. Its my current and only one ever petitioner. I passed the interview with no issues.

Visa in hand. Picked it up today and flight is already booked. I guess I am done (for now) with the process.
Best of luck to the people still waiting, specially Dec 2017 fillers!
If anyone from Santo Domingo, DR needs some help or guidance on what to do after NOA2, at least K1 fillers, feel free to shoot me an MP and will be more than glad to help. I am finishing a small and updated guide anyway. I'll post it soon.

Today was our interview. We we're approved!
Other than having to wait about 3 hours for the interview, way too many people, the process of today was absolutely smooth. Interview is like conversing with the officer.

You are correct. She has to file a separate i-134 showing her current income and provide all the evidence she have to back it up. Both, your fiancee and co-sponsor fave to file a separate i-134 with its evidence.

Your situation seems very specific to the SD consulate. Most people here likely won't be able to answer.
But to answer your question, the visa preparation could take some time, yes. Have you checked what is the CEAC status if is on AP? What about the place where you're going to pick it up, have you asked them?

After waiting for "something" finally on August 3, 2018 the Embassy at Santo Domingo notified us by email that we that we could start filing DS-160 and scheduling VAC and Consulate Appointments. As stated before in these forums the Santo Doming Embassy does not mail packet #3. However we expected some kind of notification by "snail" mail but got the email instead. Still in doubt that the package was received electronically since NVC sent it on July 24 and the info was updated on July 25 with status Ready. Now the CEAC shows that the case was updated on August 6.
Since both medical exam providers Consultorios de Visa and Servicios Médicos Consulares list the appointment sheet (Hoja de Cita) as a prerequisite you must schedule your appointments on the ustraveldocs.com/do website. In order to do that you need the DS-160 confirmation number.
As stated in these forums be very VERY careful on creating your ustraveldocs (aka https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome) profile. I won't spout the whole rant about the website. Be mindful of two caveats: 1) Type the email exactly as it is. One small typo will cause you not to receive anything since the profile will be created without the system validating the email first. 2)Never create more that one profile just to check out website user interaction. I did both mistakes and had to call ustraveldocs and request that all 3 profiles (the first I created, the one with the typo in the email and the one with the correct email) be merged since I used the same beneficiary's data. The system checks that and won't let you pay and schedule your appointments. VAC appointment is on the last week of August and Embassy in mid September. After we are done I will be updating our timeline.
Once we passed that hurdle we managed to fill and file DS-160 print in PDF the confirmation page. We also printed in PDF the DS-160 already filled and filed. By this week we hope to complete the medical and all requested documents. Know I will fill form I-134 as part of my files and wait patiently to meet again with my love 😍
Hope this updates helps anyone.
I went to Servicios Medicos Consulares
I took my passport, NVC Letter (the email you get when your case changes from "Ay NVC" to "In Transit") and the appointment confirmation page. They took it the same order, no question asked. So make sure to bring that one too.
They said something about waiting for them to "call and confirm with the Embassy". I waited (and other people too) for about 25-30min to call me and begin with the exam.

Great information, i m from santo domingo province, i have heard about places that do it for free.... Do you know any?
I'm sorry for the late response. I've been quite busy lately but If you mean, the vaccines, likely yes or super cheap. I am from the Espaillat province and I know places where I could take some of them really cheap. But it was to late for me to go and take some of them so I ended up not taking them at the medical exam. We'll just do another exam and vaccines in the US.
-
I did the medical about 2 days ago. And tried to learn as much as I could about what could possibly be the vaccines that they would give (or in the case of my visa type, offer me. They are optional for me at the moment).
The medical exam or test. Is just about $275. Then there is an extra charge for each needed vaccines. As far as I could tell (and at least the place I went, SMC) they don't seem to do additional test to identify which vaccines you need, and rather they rely on questions and the vaccination card you take. I took mine from as old as 1994-1996. And they used that to tell me those vaccines were expired (which I knew before hand, but I took it anyway), so it seems like they are not picky with which clinic or "trustable place" the vaccination card is from.
So anyway, back to your post. As other have said. Before the medical exam try to find the cheapest place where she/he can get them and make sure they get a vaccination record of them. Then take that to the medical exam.
As to finding out which vaccines your spouse might need, based on the age. A good rule of thumb way is looking at this chart (search for Vaccination Chart) that even USCIS adjudicators use. This gives you an idea of what vaccines she/he might be taken. But also note that is is not 100% accurate, the doctor at the medical exam might determine, based on any ilness you spouse might have the need for any other that is not on her age appropriate row.

Not true. Maybe they mean make sure to include more evidence due the current political climate in the US? but as geowrian said, the only change made was the exclusion of the G-325A as is now part of the I-129F itself. The only thing that is considered "more", is the waiting time. 6-7mo for a NOA2 now a day vs 3-4 months for a NOA2 back in 2014. And is expected to go higher.

Please help! I am bad at forums , have no facebook, my case for my FIANCE WHO IS CUBAN is ready to schedule the interview at the US embassy in Guyana. In order to see the calendar of open dates and schedule it I need to pay the US visa application fee in Guyanese dollars, in cash, in Guyana. Neither my fiance or myself is in Guyana. They explained to me it can only be done in cash in person although it does not have to be done by me. What should I do? Courier service I can trust? Any other couples there for visa interviews right now? If I make a facebook can someone add me to the group? I always read but never post because I'm obviously bad at it. THANK YOU for any help you can provide, I just received this news of being able to pay, then schedule the appointment this morning. Good luck to everyone.
Wow that some bad news. Maybe looking through known/respectable members on this forum from Guayana and that can help you.
Also, why not book a trip for both of you and finish the process over there? Book medical and do the interview. It it likely would be a less than 1-month stay.
I am curious also, why did you go that far, when you have closer regions like the DR?
-
My fiancee had came from both mayor airports, Santiago (STI) and Santo Domingo (SDQ). On a one-way ticket, both times traveling with Delta, she was never asked for return proof. Not even when leaving the US nor after going through immigration on here.
As a way to avoid any possible issues. She had purchased a cheap one-way ticket back to the US to any random state and a random date, printed the ticket confirmation email, and cancelled them after entry and within 24h with no issues. She was never asked for it, anyway.

Our case changed, to "Ready" status. Medicals next weeks and interview in 2 weeks after, so we can finally get this over with.

1. How soon did you get the letter from the NVC?
2. When did your case arrive at the NVC?3. And when did you get your case number?
1. By letter, I mean their email. Probably the physical one is on the way. This was received just today when our case changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit". It might not have much value for some embassies/countries. However, in our embassy and some others. You need to show this letter to get started with the medical exam.
2. We waited almost 3 weeks since NOA2 (Jun 29, 2018) to call for a case #. We called on Jun 18. And they said the package was already there. I assume maybe on Jun 17 or something around it.
3. Jun 18, 2018.
Edit: I also assume that is what the physical copy looks like too.
The Email I am referring to looks like this. You should receive it when your case changes to In Transit.

Yep. Same here "In Transit". I also received the NVC Letter which was the only thing left to get ready for the Medical exam.
Filed only 3 months ago and I already have I-485 interview?

Other than couple that are subject to very strict job schedules, why does it matter anyway, whether to go with or without your partner to the interview? If you relationship is sincere, there shouldn't be a problem.
