    today it really starts to hit me, and i can't stop crying cos it's been such an emotional roller coaster!

    it's been wayyyyy too long, a terrible road for someone that just wants to be with their loved ones.

    at the same time i'm sooo thankful we all met on this forum to find support and new friends :)

     

    now hopefully you'll have updates superduper soon! i'm keeping you in my prayers too <3 

     

    and soon enough we'll all ( @Naes @LizM @Thelucybelle @NICK & PAULA and me) celebrating like this:

    I brought in my original birth certificate, not sure if its legalized but its the original one from when i was born, i believe it comes legalized.  but thats not for the medical, only for the interview documents.

     

    lucky you - mine cost CHF 800 which equals 800 USD! :o

    I'm just patiently waiting right now, haha. Interview on May 10th, and then my M. arrives on May 11th for 10 days :) if everything goes smoothly I hope to go there in June :) but I recently got super sick and am coughing quite badly. Hopefully my medical will be alright 🤞🏼

    a quick review on the appointment:

     

    so i was there 15 min earlier and i had to go through security etc... 

    i was super confused as the security guard said i have to open the medical envelope (sealed) as i'm not allowed

    to bring in a sealed envelope? well i was scared but i had to...

    once i was in there, and all alone, no other people waiting or such, someone came to the window after 10-15 min waiting, 

    and she asked for all papers. i handed my entire pile and she went through it. we didn't have the tax return, but instead the i-134 for 2016 and 2017 

    (as we had 2016 ready since november). so then she asked me if i want to pick up next week or if they should send the passport.

    and she explained to me the steps how to enter the country, how to take enough time for the officer interview at the customs,

    and how to get married in 90 days. then she sent me to the next window to talk to an officer.

    this officer was super friendly but has asked me a tooon of questions! when did you first meet, how did you meet, 

    when did your mother meet him the first time, how often do you see each other. how many times did you see each other last year?

    where is your typical layover? where is his home? do you know his full address? what is his job? where does he work? how long

    has he been working for this company? when is your wedding? (after i explained we'll have a small one when i get there and the

    big one in october he asked more...) so do you have a date for october? 

    and i had to "sign" with fingerprints and he said they'll send me everything back next week so i'll have it by wednesday or thursday.

    he wished me a great weekend and a great start into my new life in the USA!

     

    that was it :D bam!!! walked out with a big ol' smile and still, no other people there! :o 

     

    it was a great and quick experience, they were friendly and didn't make it hard on me.

    literally just walked back home after 12 hours on the road! :o

    buuuuuut:

    the embassy appointment went well and they send out the visa/passport tuesday!!! :D :D :D :D

    initially i wanted to go pick it up but the travel (3 hours in the AM and 5.5 hours back) is too much, so i'll just have them ship it to me...

     

    yaaaay yaaay yaaaaaay!!!!! 

    flying in 10 days!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

    happy friday friends!

     

    gosh i've slept 5 hours and got up waaaay too early, but i'm so excited and nervous and overwhelmed at the same time!

    just got to finish my hair quickly and off I am to the embassy!!!! :o 

    wish me luck, pray for me to not pass out and hope that the 3 hour ride won't have additional traffic! lol 

    embassy: be ready for me, cos i'll bam bam bam this interview :D

    gosh i love this VJ community <3 seriously!!!! 

     

    i am praying for the people waiting in the berry-month, and still hoping whoever is a step further to get

    their NVC number soon, and of course, whoever is in any kind of waiting process to stay strong!

     

    i know i've said this before, but all of YOU guys really helped in this process sooo sooo soo much! 

    and i don't know how i would have survived without this. (especially my queen @Naes )

    i know i've been more quiet here, but honestly also out of a guilt cos we are a step further than some others :(

    i don't want them anyone to be sad or frustrated. 

     

    happy friday people and stay positive! BAM BAM BAM!

    and gosh i love my country! :) 2 days ago i had my medical, today i received the envelope from the doc's to bring to the embassy and

    tomorrow morning i'll be heading to Bern! :o 

     

    PS: already went to de-register at our local county office and did all paperwork i have to do here :D bam bam bam!

    turns out that our embassy doesn't allow online scheduling and when you get packet 3, and you return the files they require,

    they will send you the interview date. so when i returned the data, i also informed them that i just finished the medical (tuesday) and they

    confirmed to have my documents by friday! so they offered me a friday afternoon appointment :)

     

    luckily, the postal service confirmed a delivery today from the doc's office so i'll have that when I go to the embassy.

    they never send it directly to the embassy here...

    I am in shock still that it really did go so quick out of nowhere! 

    but i'm super super super happy!

     

    and should I give you another little something?

    so tomorrow is my interview, tuesday i can pick up the passport, and

    the following monday - so today in 10 days - I WILL FLY OUT!!! we found a suuuuper cheap flight (cheaper than

    what we booked in the past 2.5 years) anddddd didn't want to risk a price change so here we are :D 

    ready for our forever to start!!!

    the embassy people are super friendly! my appt is friday afternoon and he just confirmed back that i can pick up the passport on tuesday next week :D

    aiming for a weekend or monday flight (28 - 30th) :D  wohoooo

    and @Naes i have called the doc's and they said they always include the copy of this form for the applicant AND in the sealed envelope for the embassy :D yaaay! you rock! andddd best: she said they got all documents already so she's sending out today and i'll have it tomorrow! :D

     

    common embassy, send me that appointment GRRRR :D

    actually - me personally, i find the courthouse a nightmare! 

    so we'll pick up the licence and get a minister and decide spontaneously to elope in a park or at the beach :) 

    whatever we feel like that day. looking into a few options or places now where we could do our wedding for 2!

     

    and PS: the dress for the small wedding has been shipped on friday so should also get there these days wohooooooooo
