For something so serious, you would think there would be a more organized notification process!

Your K-1 is a one-time use only. Your K-1 was over the moment you entered the United States.

USCIS will see that you guys were married for a short amount of time and that you had a very quick interview date. Bring as much evidence as you can for that short time period because it is clear that they gave you guys an interview date rather quickly and that was out of your hands so I am sure they will understand if you don't have that much evidence to show. You should be able to find forums on here that explain what to do and what to bring for the interview. Good luck and again, congrats on the great news!

Understood. I wouldn't think 3 months is too soon, to be honest. You met in person within 2 years so that's all that they would have cared about.

barashka got a reaction from ira1712 in OCTOBER AOS 2018 Filers
I woke up this morning and now both my I-765 application and I-131 application says “Case Was Approved” whereas yesterday, my I-765 application said “New Card is being produced” and my I-131 had no update at all since my initial submission?

My wife's I-765 was finally approved today. It took about 195 days or so to be approved. However, the I-131 has no update yet? Do they send these two cards separately or as one combination card?

Because you filled out them all out and filed concurrently AND if you look at the instructions for each of them individually you will notice there is no biometrics taken for I131. Ie Had you applied for it separately you would have not had to get photos or fingerprints.

barashka reacted to TM92 in Biometrics
No specific reason. My biometrics letter also said I485 - I765 and only had 2 baracodes (I485 and I765) on the bottom. I still received a EAD/AP combo card. So no need to be worried or concerned.

Our NOA2 was back in December of 2017. We had to wait 3 months to finally schedule an interview. The interview itself was 3 months after the day we scheduled it on. Our interview was in late May of 2018. Basically, we waited 6 months from NOA2 to K-1 Visa in hand. Unfortunately, you just have to be patient.

Sign where it asks for "Petitioner's Signature" on page 10. The other two signatures are for the preparer and interpreter (if it applies to your case).

barashka got a reaction from Andreypa in Request for initial evidence (copy of marrige cert)
I sent an original certified copy with a tangible seal. The courthouse asked me if I wanted extra certified copies of my marriage certificate and I told them yes (knowing I would need extra ones).

barashka got a reaction from Lucrezia_ITALY in Confused about SSN now after submitting I-485 and asking for a SSN on the I-485.
You may certainly apply before the wedding, yes. Your I-94 will help you apply for a SSN. You do not need a work permit to ask for a SSN (as long as It is after 14 days but within your 76 days of the 90 day total). Like I said, I applied for my wife's SSN the very next day after her arrival. It is best not to procrastinate because those 90 days sure do go by quickly!

Interesting. I took my wife to our local Social Security office the day after she arrived and we applied for her Social Security number. Her card came in the mail the week after. Basically, she got her Social Security card within the first two weeks of her being in the United States.
