Scandi got a reaction from OldUser in Filing under the five year rule
Impossible to know, the IO can ask for anything really. There isn't any set of rules that apply to every situation, it's very individual. The IO can ask for 10 things that aren't listed on your letter, or he doesn't want to look at anything you have brought even if listed in the letter. Bring what you have.

I filed based on the marriage to my USC husband (3 year rule) and wasn't asked for anything regarding my husband, while others have to show their USC spouse’s documents even under the 5 year rule.

Yeah I agree, I don't know where the discussion about having a bank account came from in the first place, it was pretty clear to me that OP already knows which account the money would be sent to (ie, s/he already has someone in the US who has an account). I just wanted to "translate" what the other poster meant.

I love Wise, use it a lot to transfer money to my foreign account when I go there for vacation. It works great both ways, btw. They generally have the best rates and lowest fees too. I always receive the money within 6 hours, so very speedy.

The N-600 is for someone who has already become a citizen and who wants proof of his citizenship (most commonly for children whose parents naturalized and the children then became citizens automatically, they may want proof of their citizenship other than just a passport).

It doesn't apply to you, since 1. you're not a citizen, and 2. you will get your certificate when you take the oath.

Scandi got a reaction from Chancy in Embassy interview approved but Refused on the CEAC Tracker after
The visa is never really approved until the status changes to issued, no matter what they say at the interview. After the interview they keep checking things and could run into stuff that makes you ineligible for a visa. Not saying that's what happens in your case, just saying that you need to wait for the "issued" status to know for sure if your visa was actually approved or not. For most people it only takes a few hours to a few days for the status to change to issued.

If only you knew how often we see people coming on here to ask for advice after their lawyers completely messed up their applications, in some cases also got the petitions denied. And people PAY for that. Professional help isn't always professional.

Scandi got a reaction from OldUser in I751 with a waiver processing time in California and no updates
Like Rocio said, since you filed with a divorce waiver you are very likely going to have an interview, so you can't compare your case to others who didn't need an interview (ie those who only go through a service center and not a field office). And, if you didn't have an interview for your AOS you will have an interview for your ROC instead, divorced or not. Can't tell if you had an interview or not since you haven't filled out your timeline.

Also all field offices have different processing times, you particular field office (San Diego) might be very backlogged when it comes to i-751 interviews. Some people wait for years and as far as I know, there aren't any official processing times for field offices when it comes to the i-751. So no way of knowing what's considered "out of normal processing times" (you can't go by California Service Center processing times as the service center will not be making a decision on your case, it's your field office that will do that). You have only waited just over a year, that's definitely not odd for this particular petition. Perfectly normal.

I think it looks good, OP. Rather bring too much than too little, you just NEVER know what they will or will not ask for. Sounds like you are well prepared.

Scandi got a reaction from MASH in Passport application - Photocopy of ID
I had to give the USCIS employee my original naturalization certificate to send with the application. She never needed a photocopy of my driver license - she just needed to look at it (the actual drivers license, NOT a copy) to verify my identity before sending off my application.

We used PDF only, as when we scanned our documents that's how the files were saved on the flash stick, ie they came up as PDF when opened on the computer so we never had to convert anything. We could also put tons of pages in the same PDF-file. Convenient to have fewer documents to upload.

Scandi got a reaction from OldUser in Now what? Wife passed naturalization but 'decision cant be made'!!
Perfectly normal, nothing to be upset about. In fact, your wife was lucky she actually got to take the N-400 test and complete the interview - many applicants are sent home again just be rescheduled later just because the i-751 hasn't reached the local field office yet.

So yes, all you need to do is wait now. Since she already had an interview for her N-400 she likely won't get one for the i-751. Just wait for the approval and then for the oath to be scheduled.
