arken got a reaction from momshie in I-130 for step son, passport size photo
Passport photos are not required when petitioning a child and that's why the online filing didn't ask for it.

OP, if you want a good answer, just look at what birth certificate your father used for your immigration process. Even for citizenship, they should have asked for your birth certificate before they granted you the citizenship. Check that birth certificate and see who is listed as your mother. All discussion about whether you it was n400 or n600 that was filed is pointless. You are a USC, case closed. If the birth certificate has your bio mother as your mother, petitioning your mother is easy. If it lists your step mother as your mother (lets say someone created the birth certificate with fake mother's name), you will need a very good attorney.

arken got a reaction from bellicon in Tracking Green Card: IOE number on I-130 vs. IOE from Immigration Fee
No concern, totally different cases.
IOE number from immigrant fee payment is for the GC. Use this to track GC.
IOE number from original i130 is for the petition not for the GC. That number is long done once uscis sent the case to NVC.
Depending on who and how the immigrant fee was paid, you may or may not see it from myuscis accout.

arken got a reaction from AKN2 in Worried and scared... Abusive spouse threatening to call USCIS
What are the chances the fight escalated on the day of visa approval for that very reason.
OP: My visa got approved, i'll come over just to activate by GC but will come back for another 1-2 years thru Reentry Permit to take care of my mother.
Spouse: No, i want you to stay with me, that's the entire point of me petitioning you.
Then everything started going downhill with lots of effing......

arken got a reaction from Eric&Mirella in Naturalization Certificate signature
My signature is in my birth country's language and it looks like a curvy lady with a six pack, sunbathing with an umbrella. Been using that for all immigration documents and US passport as well.

arken got a reaction from Changnoi in N400 online payment
https://www.uscis.gov/fees
If You File Online
If you file your form online, the system will guide you through the process of paying your fees with a credit, debit, or pre-paid card. Bank account withdrawals are also available when paying online. Once you are ready to submit your form, the system will automatically direct you to the secure Department of Treasury site, pay.gov, to pay your fees online.
We only use pay.gov to process fees. Always check the website address before you pay. Beware of scam websites and scammers who may pretend to be a USCIS website.

arken got a reaction from OldUser in Critical situation!!! Spouse Wants to Leave. 1-751 please help me!
It seems you are not worried a bit at all about her having a potential bf for satisfaction only while married to you.
Anyway if you think that's the way to go, divorce ASAP and change your i751 for divorce waiver.

Good decision, additional few months of wait is worthy if you consider the costly and lengthy ROC process.

arken got a reaction from OldUser in How soon should I prepare to apply for Naturalization? (Merged threads)
The naturalization keep getting denied. Keep renewing GC.

arken got a reaction from Prizm123 in Can now wife from Uniting for Ukraine file i-485
If your wife wants the GC under married name, just fill out the forms using the married name. The marriage certificate is
enough for the new name proof.
Regarding filing, if you file i130 online, include i130 receipt notice in the i485 package when mailing. OR mail i130/i485 all in one package. Don't forget to file for EAD/AP as well.

arken got a reaction from JCG1121 in n-600 wait times, SSA won't issue SS card without naturalization certificate
Some misunderstandings here and some suggestions:
1. You applied for certificate of citizenship (not naturalization certificate) for your kids. They are already US citizens through some means i assume through a parent.
2. The N600 processing times could be well over 1 year or so, it's just 6 months in your case. Check uscis processing time for your locality.
3. At this time just apply in person for SSN for your kids once everyone in the US. Passports will do. May be you talked about pending naturalization certificate and the SSA rep said you need that. Don't worry about the person you talked on the phone. The actual persons checking and working over there have better knowledge.
4. You can enroll your kids in school without a SSN.

arken got a reaction from JCG1121 in n-600 wait times, SSA won't issue SS card without naturalization certificate
When applying in person, just apply using the passport. You don't even need to mention the pending Certificate of Citizenship as it's optional.

arken got a reaction from JCG1121 in n-600 wait times, SSA won't issue SS card without naturalization certificate
I'd say its wrong input = wrong output case. I assume you mentioned to them that you had applied for your kids' naturalization certificates and are still in process. Since one with pending naturalization certificate/process can never get a US passport without first getting naturalization certificate, he probably said so how in the world they got the citizenship/passport and likely gave his lecture of not so true temporary citizenship. That's a big difference between Certificate of Citizenship that you actually applied for vs Naturalization Certificate that you mentioned.

arken got a reaction from OldUser in Updating Social Security Records
Not just update but ask for the replacement card as well. You'll get it without any DHS notations.
-
arken got a reaction from randomstairs in Updating Social Security Records
No issues even if you update it after several months or years unless you are applying for something that rely on SSA for your citizenship status.

arken got a reaction from Garfield85 in ESTA To AOS Potential Problem?
Don't worry, just petition for her and go with AOS. She is already here, the CBP admitted her in. Case closed. Unless she signed a sworn statement in front of CBP that she will return back in 90 days, no issues. If you are truly in love, go with it. And don't worry about what she said at the CBP. All non immigrants will say they will return but plans change. What was in their mind beforehand, nobody can tell.
At least she got married and now will go through the AOS almost 1.5 yr after entering Us. There are lots of people who get married and go with AOS in the first few months of arrival on ESTA or B2 or other non immigrant visas.
Let your nephew graduate and handle few related cases or have him join VJ for his projects or thesis on immigration cases and he will change his opinion and will say "yeah go for it, no worries, she doesn't need to return". Partial knowledge is dangerous.

arken got a reaction from pushbrk in Certificate of Naturalization PROBLEM (merged)
You don't get the naturalization certificate because you did not naturalize but became the citizen thru father. Passport is enough to prove US citizenship. However if you want to have something as a proof that never expires, you can apply for certificate of citizenship thru N600 but not necessary.

arken got a reaction from LexieJ in No Marriage Picture, Visa Application Being Questioned by Consulate
Is it not better then just to leave them alone and let them do whatever they wanna do?
Anyway based on what you have said here and your other new posts, she is not getting the visa. The marriage certificate is not legit based on how it was obtained.

You have a US passport. You don't need to carry your naturalization certificate for travel anywhere. It shall stay in your shelf or closet.

arken got a reaction from SusieQQQ in Flying night of N-400 Interview
You can travel after N400 interview and they won't take your passport. Just don't go for the oath if they provide the same day oath ceremony so they'll schedule it later.
