We don't know if the OP's household size is 2.

The complete tax return copy is sent.  Schedule C is part of that, when self employed.

The public charge issue has always been a judgment call.  Meeting ANY minimum assures nothing at all.

Sort of but no "officer" needed to be "reminded".  I doubt there will be any noticeable change in how they exercise their judgement.  We'll see.

Renew your passport now, and submit it during your interview. Shouldn’t be a problem.

No nothing changed about the 125% guideline.
The 250% would be a heavily weighted positive factor but it's not the new minimum.

Clearly, you have neither taken a close look the I-864 or its instructions.  Doing so, will be critical to your ultimate success.  Income requirements are on the I-864p and vary based on household size.  You'll be supplying information from three tax returns, but are only required to include a copy of the latest.

Correct.  For 2018, it's line 6. For previous years, it's line 22.  Business revenue is not "income", in this context until after it appears on line 6 of a 1040.  A self employed person's income is the taxable income, AFTER deducting legitimate business expenses.  Revenue is not the same thing as "income".

Being self employed is  a double edged sword.  Nice deductions and less taxes, but less qualifying income when it comes to sponsoring an immigrant.  Some folks forget about some of their legitimate deductions when they file, then remember them and file an amended return after their spouse is in the USA.  Presumably, you could do that for your 2019 tax return, making IT your latest tax return from which "current income" is derived.

There are more than 60 countries to which Filipinos can travel without a visa.  If "out" is what you want, you can get them out NOW if they have passports.  https://www.moneymax.ph/lifestyle/articles/visa-free-countries-filipinos

You are fine since you hold a Pakistani passport.  You are classified as a Third Country National.  When you interview and upload to NVC just be prepared that you will need to upload or have documents from both countries.

They won't rotate documents to read them.  Scan and upload them right side up so not rotation or head turning is needed to read them.

I've never heard of a need to present any passport of a step child's other parent.  People are not required to even have a passport unless they are traveling internationally.

Without knowing what country the timeline is hard to predict. 7 to 12 months for USCIS, 1 to 3 months for the NVC and 1 to 12 months for the consulate.

He is not interviewing for a green card.   The interview is for an immigrant VISA.   The green card comes after entering the US and paying the fee.

You have twelve to 18 months after filing the petition, after marriage, to get a job in the US to establish evidence of current income sufficient to be the sole sponsor.  So if you get married in September and file the petition in October, you'll have until at least October of 2021, perhaps April of 2022, to show evidence of your current income for the I-864.  Or get a joint sponsor.  Good luck!

The problem with "not knowing" is that a person never knows WHAT it is they don't know.  Do YOU even know how this person is USING the abbreviation AOS for sure?  I don't.

pushbrk reacted to Terribelle in Need help in figuring out options as wife is pregnant
I'm currently pregnant myself with a high risk pregnancy, as stated by multiple doctors, and due in early May. I also live in a remote area in Northern Canada where the nearest hospital is over an hour away, in good weather. Being able to be with my partner sooner would be a huge help as its expected I'll be put on best rest eventually, and unable to travel in the near future due to fear I may go into labour on a plane, which could be disastrous to both the baby and myself.
Despite that, I could not get anything expedited. It seems they will only expedite if the US citizen is pregnant and needing her partner to care for her. If the foreign partner is the pregnant one they expect her to get help in her own country unfortunately.
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt anything for you to try though, I just wouldn't get my hopes up.
I wish you luck, I understand exactly how stressed you both must be right now, and I hope this turns out well for you.

Actually, this message is a standard one, and is NOT a request to submit a joint sponsor.  The keywords are in the second sentence.  No consular officer is going to see the I-864 to make a judgment unless NVC sends it on.  They are sending it on.  The "delay" spoken of would be AFTER the interview, if there IS a delay in this case.

The petitioner needs to make certain they actually DO qualify to sponsor the immigrant.  If they have current income comfortably above the minimum, there's no reason to expect a problem.

This same message would be received if qualifying based on substantial liquid assets or if the latest tax return does not show sufficient income but the current income documentation is OK.

Which is dealt with all over the world many times every day.  That a thing is not "dealt with" in such a way to have a satisfactory result each time does not mean it is not "dealt with".  Childbirth, AND all it's glories and dangers are a part of life.

But it's NOT an emergency until it is.  Then, it's too late.  Pregnancy occurs EVERYWHERE and people deal with it.  This sounds like a timing issue, not a hardship or emergency.

I know about that thread and to some extent I wonder about others I have seen and exactly what the details of the case were, seen too many people put down a reason for something happening when another seems more likely. Expedites do seem shall we say varied so always have a go. Free to do so, just do not expect a positive response.

If you’re a USC you’ll just do CRBA after the baby is born to get the paper and passport.

No, she can’t use tourist visa to immigrate - that would be fraud.
