So, you are giving up on the planned marriage?  or do you another plan for marriage?  This plan doesn't make sense...unless you are planning to enter the US via a student visa, then marry and adjust status.  That is fraud.

I doubt you  will get an F-1 visa before your K-1.

If your future spouse is not able to support you financially, while you are pursuing your masters
degree, then get a spouse visa.

And yes you’ve expressed immigration intent and so unless the relationship with your petitioner is terminated I don’t see that it is likely the F-1 will be approved.

Thank you everyone! That's great news, and a bit of worry off of our plate! We'll just be doing a simple courthouse ceremony first time around so hopefully it will all be quite straightforward then

Asking for help with illegal immigration is a term of service violation on VJ.   It's illegal to enter the US with a non-immigrant tourist visa with the intent to immigrate by AOS.  We can't help you plan this.  It's illegal.

How are you planning to pay for health care?  Your parent will not qualify for Medicare or Medicaid.

Letter can indicate u have a friend in the US with plans to marry here and adjust your status to stay
it will not help your chances

u must apply with strong country ties to Mexico
    DO u own a home?
DO u have a good job to return to?
IS the friend a romantic friend ?

that is what embassy will look at

and ,  please,  if u do a letter of invitation and are successful ,  let us know so we can reference your post if others from Mexico ask this question

BTW a school teacher from Peru was denied
her letter on invitation was from family here
    she had a good job
she had to return to her job,  her policeman husband ,  her 2 kids
    and they owned an apartment
and this woman and her husband had lived in Louisana while he attended university in the US and had left when college was over

You took the words out of my mouth (or my keyboard in this case).
It really begs the question as to why they chose AOS knowing that they are directors of a foreign firm and that they might to travel on a short notice.
If the possibility to work/ travel is a concern, then neither k1 nor AOS are the routes to take. CR1 it is.
    OP now has three choices:
1.Apply for emergency parole (however, pretty much nothing is urgent for USCIS)
    2. Continue to remain in the US and wait until AP is approved.
    3. Leave now and start all over with a CR1 from the home country.

At this stage it is your petition and you can withdraw it without her being notified. Now if she has the file number she may be able to find information online about the status. If she doesn't have anything then don't worry about it.

Do not petition anyone who is causing you anguish. Mother or not you do not owe her anything if this will be harmful to yourself.

Pregnancy and a visit for grandparents is not an emergency.

Personally, I think your best chance to have the grandparents around is for your wife to give birth in India.

Your wife's pregnancy would not be an emergency if it were your or her case. It certainly isn't an emergency for your parents.

agrabs reacted to jan22 in B1/B2 VISA FOR PARENTS OF A US CITIZEN
I have no intention of fanning the flames here, but want to address several misperceptions in this statement, mainly for the benefit of other VJ members who may be confused by your assertions.

There is no difference between anyone's parents/kids/siblings in the process for B1/B2 visa applications, The laws and regulations are the same for all -- and none require action by you, the US citizen.

B1 and B2 visas can be separated in any country, not just yours (with the few exceptions where there might be a fee for a tourist visa and none for a visitor for business visa) -- and there is no difference between requirements based on a city within a country.

Everyone in the US has the "right" to invite their parents/kids (i.e., there is no law that says you cannot issue a personal invitation to your family member).  There is, however, no "right" to special consideration of a non-immigrant visa application if a US citizen, green card holder, or anyone else.

And, finally, what Consular Officers base their decisions on does not vary from one country to another -- they base their decisions on US law, which requires them to consider all non-immigrant visa applications as having immigrant intent until the applicant demonstrate differently.

I'm confused. You just filed AOS last week.
Did your wife's brother only announce his wedding date this week?
Did you only discover this week your wife can't travel until she receives AP?
If attending the wedding is so important consider @Letspaintcookies idea.
Have your wife look for a job and hope for a combo card. Even though your wife plans to start her own business, working for someone else before the wedding could help solve your issue.
If your wife isn't willing to compromise and the attending the wedding is more important that staying in the States  consider abandoning AOS and have her return to Poland before her stay expires in February. She can then interview in Poland.

Yup.  Drawback to jumping the queue for a consulate-issued visa by adjusting from a non-immigrant visa.

It is your right to say NO to something you don't feel comfortable with, especially when it comes to money.

Your daughter and son-in-law have many other solutions to their problem:

    - they can earn more money
    - they can ask someone else to co-sponsor. It doesn't have to be family. Just needs to be someone who meets the income requirements.
    - the son-in-law can go back to his home country at the end of his current authorized stay, he applies for a spousal visa at the embassy, and he returns as a green card holder in 1-2 years. That gives your daughter more time to finish school and find a higher-paying job. They can visit each other in the meantime.

Also, if they continue to pressure or guilt trip you into becoming a co-sponsor, consider that a big red flag. The sponsorship requirements are something they needed to have considered before they started this immigration process. It's part of being a responsible adult.

    2. Possibly the presidential proclamation. It is a guess as no way of knowing.

    3. No way of knowing wait 6 months and try again would be my default comment.

    4. They are doing emergency appointments and cancellations come up,  certainly a B application could raise whatever the issue is.

agrabs reacted to Khadija in Scammed by Fake Documents -- How to Proceed? [split topic]
I have a problem. Earlier tonight I found out that I am being scammed. I filed a I-130 to bring a man that I thought that I had married. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Found out that any document that he used that he gave for me to upload.. were all faked. I also know that a friend he knows in Atlanta, GA did this for somebody else to come over here. She is a sponsor for one from her same city. Calls him her brother. She got $5,000 payment. She won't talk to me anymore because I found out everything tonight. The man that calls himself my husband.. told be a lot over WhatsApp. Two other people are involved as well. I just want my petition withdrawn and see if he can be barred. I only have copies of the documents used. I made the copies on my computer. I don't have any of the originals. He told me to send all of them back to him. I have no clue on what to do. I had many different people warn me about men from Africa and green card scams. I should have listened. 5 year relationship , all my money gone for sweet words.. up until about two months ago. Tonight was the end of it. He's waiting for an interview. Somebody please help me I still can get bank records of money sent to me for him to come over. I should have known was all lies. I was used.

agrabs reacted to Gail and Derrick in Has Anyone Actually Been Deported on K1 For Unofficial Wedding Ceremony?
It's too late. According to the earliest posts on Reddit they actually got married because AP was taking so long and they didn't know they couldn't get married. Redditors told them they could no longer do K-1 and would need to start again with CR1. In subsequent posts, OP claimed it was just a ceremony and has been running with that ever since.

Using a post from 11 years ago that does not speak to you or your circumstances, is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that nowhere in the post from ELEVEN YEARS AGO does it say that exemptions for vaccines are "never" approved. Dude, you just joined the VJ forum and you're attacking people for no reason, get a grip.
