Guys, my wife is coming over through the POE at Boston Airport.  The layover is 3 hours long, will it be enough time to go through immigration with her CR1 paperwork? She will be arriving at 6 pm.  I want to make sure before booking her flight.

Yes, without a doubt. I'm a Bostonian, I fly in and out of Logan constantly and 3 hours is more than enough time.

She will land in Terminal E.  Her connection will typically be at Terminals A,B, or C.  Terminal E is for most international flight departures and all international arrivals.

There is an indoor walkway from Terminal E to Terminal C.  Terminals B and A can be reached from Terminal C, but she will need to walk outside under a covered walkway.  Or use a shuttle.

In July it took about 2 hours for my wife and nephew to go through the visitor's CBP line.  She has global entry but my nephew was visiting on B2 and she stayed with him to help interpret for him.

A few weeks ago it only took 15 minutes for us to enter from our trip to the Caribbean, but we used global entry.  The visitor's line didn't seem that long.

3 hours layover should be fine normally, though 4 is better.

Should be fine. When I traveled to Boston it was super quick. They seem to be very efficient.
You can double check to see how many other flights arrive around the same time on the same day to guess if the airport will be busier or not…

Thank! Good thing I asked before booking. My wife won't know what to do with the shuttle or how to get to the next gate.  I'll find something easier for her.

What about a POE of Seattle?   The announcements on the train between terminals are spoken in Japanese.

Its also a relatively short direct flight from Narita.

Also what about POE at Dulles airport? I assume that the final destination is on the east coast. If she takes ANA from Tokyo she will arrive around 9am at Dulles. That time immigration lines are the shortest. Probably 15 minutes max to clear. Pick up the bags and leave the customs area, put the bags for the next flight 100 feet away, clear security upstairs and go to the gate (via the train, bus or walking).

She's fine but if she uses a wheelchair then she won't have to wait in line.

Hey, I am sorry but that's not the best way to handle things. Simulating a disability is sketchy at its finest.

Either allow for more hours towards the connection, or go meet her at the POE if you are so uneasy about the whole thing. But don't take up a service that someone else might truly need.

I booked her a flight to DFW with 5 hrs layover. It should be enough time for her.

This allows for all the variables.  Good work!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
