Filed I-130 for my wife on March 8 2022 the processing time has been overdue still no answer.  The case center is in California.
Does anyone know the time it will take until the decision? We have two children who are a US Citizens and my wife is a Finnish Citizen.
To me this is a absurd to take so long for a simple immigration procedure.
In Finland it took only 3 months for me to get a Family Resident Permit and they told me i can even wait in Finland with the tourist visa until the case is approved because they didnt want to put stress on my wife being without me.  How thoughtful of finns.

I will assume Finland immigration is not as monstrous as the US immigration. But I agree that the waiting through US migration systems can drive one crazy.

Have you inquired about your case since it's outside processing time?

Not outside the 10.5 month processing time yet for California.  Most likely any inquiry will be ignored at this point.

Even then, they wouldn’t be outside of processing time. The earliest they can submit an inquiry is:

While the US immigration system desperately needs an intervention and cannot sustain itself on the track it’s on, it is not very fair to compare the two systems. The amount of immigrants bound for the US far exceeds that of Finland.

Wait times are just what they are and they’ll only keep getting worse as there is no real effort to bring positive change to the system and the way things are running.
