Hello everyone 😀

I was under the impression that I need to take the covid vaccine to enter  USA with my hopefully approved immigrant visa, till I read this

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel-during-covid19.html

sooooo will I need it or not? I’m confused.

would I be considered an immigrant?

im hoping they cancel the vaccine rules soon or I would just not need it.

It literally says vaccination required on that page, you just need to look at the relevant section. Copied from that page below...

OP would be considered immigrant and thus not needing the vaccine for entry but this only applies for those who received immigrant visas or green cards before COVID vaccine became part of the medical. So that part about immigrants being exempt from a COVID vaccine for entry is moot if OP must get a COVID vaccine to pass the medical

You are not truly considered a PR until you have been admitted entry. You must show proof to the airlines in initial entry

No, you don’t. Immigrant visa holders do not need proof of a COVID vaccination even if it’s their first entry.

Covid-19 is one of the requirements that you have to receive in your medical exam appointment. And medical exam with successful outcome is required prior your visa interview at the US embassy.
Unless the vaccine is not available or you cannot take it due to medical reasons, you will need to get it.
