  1. Hello everyone! I just passed my interview and oath ceremony is in one hour! (same day) 🎉🎉🎉🎉. This is my timeline Good luck for the ones who didn’t have their interview yet and congratulations for the new citizens 🎉🙏
  2. I got my interview date 🥳🥳 Well kind of ..they contacted me to inform me to choose dates from the week of sep 24tb till December 10th. they contacted me 33 days after I did my biometrics. I can get it as early as next week!! But I’ll push it further as much as I can for now.
  3. Extremely helpful! Now I’m joining the thread 😀 applied for citizenship 14 days after entering USA as a permanent resident. Timeline: entered USA June 23rd applied for N400 on July 7th received notice July 8th biometrics appointment scheduled for August 16. left USA with US husband and kids last week and now I have to fly back with my temp stamp in passport since I haven’t even received my physical green card yet (being produced). I’ll keep you updated.
  4. Ok so my case is different. I applied for citizenship 14 days after entering USA as a permanent resident Entered USA on June 23rd just last month Received social security July 7th US citizen husband received a job offer that’s hard to say no to and have to start work in august! After an online search we found out I’m eligible for Expedited Naturalization and I applied immediately even though I haven’t even received my actual green card in the mail yet. expedited citizenship is for the spouses of United States citizens employed by certain employers overseas, to expedite their applications for citizenship and naturalize without having to meet the residency requirements normally required to become a United States citizen. My IR1 interview was on march 6th this year but I don’t remember biometrics taken. ideally it’s better to wait to get biometrics done then fly out of the country but we couldn’t wait and already left USA since i don’t mind flying back and forth for biometrics and interview/oath appointments.
  5. Ok update applied on July 7th received notice July 8th biometrics appointment scheduled for August 16.
  6. When did they take your biometrics during your immigration journey? At what stage?
  7. Is the biometrics waiver only for applicants who are removing or removed conditions already? Or is it for all applicant?
  8. Hey everyone🤍 I have applied for citizenship on July 7th and received a payment receipt notice on July 8th that’s it so far. I applied to be processed at Washington DC field office.
  9. It happened to us too! Atlanta airport. the officer was talking to us like he knew who we were before we even handed him the passports. I asked him “how did you know” I asked him that twice because he also said info about my husband which was kind of crazy like how would he know? He just kept smiling then said welcome to USA. Must be facial recognition but wow I’m impressed that’s super high tech comparing to where I come from 😅feels unreal.
  10. When travelling with My US citizen husband I go through the citizens line with no issues even though I travelled with a tourist visa.
  11. As the title says, how do I determine this info before getting my physical green card? is it the day I enter USA? or is it the day I was granted the IR1 visa?
  12. Just to clarify..my mother is not a Kuwaiti citizen and not a Kuwaiti resident and she applied from US embassy in Algeria (North Africa). when you fill the visa form they ask who you will be paying for the trip and she listed him as the sponsor.
  13. In my mothers case yes the officer did ask her for proof of my husbands assets but she only handed him his work contract because that’s all she had. the officer also asked her for a marriage certificate of me (her daughter) and a copy of my valid US visa since she said she was travelling with me and my American husband. In the other woman’s case,I’m not sure all I know she was approved less than 1 min interview
  14. I met a person inside the US embassy who was also going to her son in law graduation in USA and she has no assets or any strong ties to her country.she only had the invitation letter from her son in law and how HE WILL sponsor her stay in USA.she was approved right away. my mother was approved for a tourist visa based only on her relationship with my US citizen husband and he is listed as her sponsor, all papers she showed for “ties” was just proof that my husband can sponsor her trip.she was also approved. Same for my sisters. It all depends on your situation.
  15. We go through the USC line even though I don’t have a citizenship or green card when travelling as a family to USA.
  16. Congratulations 🥳 My visa was issued yesterday! 🤩
  17. I had my IR1 visa interview today and my file already said approved on it,followed by a short interview and barely looked any documents.
  18. Does having the A# in the interview letter is a good sign of approval?
