Supposedly that is happening. At least from what we're seeing on VJ, expedites for spouse and fiance visas are happening and there is official info about that. This was just my first time hearing about it B visas being expedited.

"fair" is the word to describe this. People have been waiting for year to be reunited with their families. Expedites should be seriously taken into consideration in these cases.

Just to point out that if the war is the reason for an emergency visa, it’s probably going to be hard to persuade the visa officer that they really are just visiting. It’s a tough situation. It may be easier for them to go elsewhere in Europe for now and wait it out.

There is still zero official info about those refugee visas so far, embassies only say that "It is important to note that a visa is not a viable way to achieve refugee resettlement in the United States". DoS has been really slow to actually implement any of the words coming from Biden, Blinken and co.

There has always been the ability to request for emergency B visas, but it’s usually for a very limited set of defined circumstances. I believe that those affected by other wars have not been able to use it as a reason to actually get the visa (which is different from getting an expedited appointment).

I have seen a few F4 cases have their I 130 cases expedited and then seem surprised they have decades to wait for the PD to be current

 

So would being a refugee from a war be a good reason for an Expedite I would say yes 

 

Would being a refugee be helpful getting a tourist visa well normally no

 

What the administration has in mind who knows they certainly have not said anything

This is the worst part / either they have made no decisions and/or they never intent to and/or they have no idea what to do and have not held meetings to get input

 

so very sad when the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing
