In treatment for over a year?   That sounds very odd.

I stopped having a joint account with my husband because he is an addict and I can’t trust him with money i take care of all the bills.( he was there feb then he got out after 6 months,r elapsed and now he is in an another rehab since he is soon to be transferred to iop) I was thinking to get a notarized letter explaining that he has been in rehab and im staying at my aunt because I can’t afford a lease on my own…

get a letter from my husband as well

maybe a letter from rehab to prove he is there.

i have joint tax together for past 4 years with w2’s, i can get family and friends affidavits i have phone bill together, i also have my husband as a beneficiary in my job’s benefits.
i have a lot of letters that we have been sending each other this past year, i went to visit him twice and have lots of pictures

i have 2020 leaseTogether  I’m  trying to get 2019 and 2018 hopefully. Hopefully this should be good. This is very stressful

Have you visited your spouse while they are in treatment.  If so, you might get copies of any sign-in sheets with your name on it as it would show your support during the treatment.

I would send in the letters you are sending each other along with the pictures you have together from your visits, and maybe a letter explaining your situation.  To me this shows you are still together and you are supportive during this tough time.

Hey there! First of, thumbs up to your husband for going through rehab. It takes some guts.

Hopefully you kept a copy of the initial package you sent. If so, I would look at what I have sent first, and see what the weakness was.
A letter from the rehab program stating that he is there would be useful.
A very simple, to-the point, notarized letter from you as well.

Copies of sign- in sheets.

Notarized affidavits from friends and family.

Pictures that show you in different situations, hopefully with different people.

While you may not have joint bank accounts, you probably filed taxes, have wills, made him your beneficiary at work, healthcare insurance. Things like that along with a letter explaining his addiction and supporting documents from the rehab facility should be helpful.

I can understand why you will not want to have certain joint accounts with him so provide what you have and explain why the normally common proofs are not available.

9 month rehab program sounds odd to you, well thanks for your answer really helped a lot.

I agree with you that a 9-13 month rehabilitation for illness, including drug addiction is far from unusual.

In my limited experience, sometimes an official at an addiction  rehabilitation facility will write a letter to close relatives of a patient informing them of the status and progress of the patient.  I believe such a letter would carry a lot of weight with USCIS.

Please try to make a list of what you remember sending and supplement those first. For example you mentioned lease, try to get rent payment receipts and a Tenant Verification Letter from the old apartment and if possible any neighbors that knew you as a couple.
Now get ready to put in some work:

1. Old utilities bills from your joint apartment ( electric, gas , water, internet)

2. Cell phone statements

3. ALL bank accounts..even if they are not joint, they will show the same address. Remember they do look at transactions . And make sure you get his bank account statements as well. I imagine he does have an account”

* You can also go to the bank and name your husband as Beneficiary if you die POD , and you can change beneficiaries whenever you wish.

4. Credit Card statements ( if you have any) Again, it will show joint address.

5. DMV registration for all cars

6. Receipts if any for car repairs / new tires .

7. Any old mail  ( including junk mail ) that has either of your names and shows your joint address

8. Hopefully you did a change of mailing address at the Post Office for BOTH of you..since he is in rehab and wherever YOU live is actually HIS address .
9. His treatment center billed your health insurance ( so get some of that billing)

10. They also usually file for some short term Social Security Disability while he is in residential treatment.

11. And of course ,  are you covering and of his day to day financial needs..( cigarettes, toiletries, clothes, pocket money)

12. Ask him to get a copy of any intake or form that shows you listed as emergency contact and spouse and hopefully shows your address.
13. The suggested letter from his counselor/therapist is a good idea…especially good if it can mention that you , the wife attended any family events/ sessions or meetings

14. Copy of any prescription meds he takes.

14. YOUR biggest support will come FROM a sworn affidavit from your husband: He  needs to say he loves , describe what your married life was like ( financial, emotional and day to day ), give date of when he was admitted, how bad he feels for the two of you losing the apartment…and the financial mess of his past , .how amazing and supporting you have been while he gets treatment, about your daily call ..etc and through his recovery, he has begun to dream of being the best husband …. Also get him to pull and print his credit report and submit it with his letter..USCIS already looked.. so don’t get spooked.

15. Get HIS family members to write letters in support of you and the marriage

16. And of course , photos and any particulars of your life I missed

You can actually get most of those things done by getting on the phone and calling for statement copies. Affidavits / letters should be Notarized

In Jorgedig's defense, you were very vague in your first post. You only used the word "treatment", which can cover a huge range of medical issues from mild to severe. There was simply not enough context in your first post to fully understand your situation. It makes total sense to maintain some financial boundaries due to your husband's addiction problems (I am friends with some addicts so I know how hard it can be to manage those relationships; it's a million times harder when it's your spouse/partner). The other comments have provided great advice and ideas for more evidence. You should be fine.
