Did either of your cases mainly the I-751 get transferred after you submitted your N400? Your interview should be any day now! Your cases are straightforward right?

No to your first question (no transfer)

and yes, case is as straightforward as it can get… married and living with my loving USC hubby, no criminal history, no overstays, lots of evidence, etc etc

Congrats, hopefully mine moves fast but my N400 has been stuck at “actively reviewing your case” since Feb 6…

Wife's N-400 was in that status for 3 months before interview was scheduled.

Thank you! What I find frustrating is that people from Columbus (same FO) applied around the same date I did, same date for biometrics, and they already have their interviews scheduled! Heck, one applicant was sent to Charleston, WV, for biometrics (same as me) and I told her to go to the ASC in Columbus instead and take an early walk in... She got her interview before I did!

Maybe if you just pay ONE MORE application. 😁

Paying those application fees "sooner" does "grease" those applications to suddenly be moved through the system.  SMH.

Yes, it happens all the time. I don't know why USCIS continues to advertise they adjudicate cases in the order they are received, we all know that's bull!

I know!!! And I am the first one to tell that to other people... But I'm just so close to the finish line and it feels like it's the dangling carrot in the desert!

Maybe a stupid question but in the interview letter it says to bring my spouses certificate of citizenship. Is that same thing as the U.S. Passport?

No, it is a different document.

How did your spouse become a US citizen?

1) At birth - then bring spouse's US birth certificate

2) Automatically acquired citizenship as a minor - certificate of citizenship

3) Filed for N-400 and naturalized - naturalization certificate.

In addition to one of the three documents above, bring spouse's US passport of course.

He was born in the U.S. no birth certificate only passport. How does one get a copy of birth certificate?

Hello everyone!

I did my N400 interview yesterday. My spouse was with me and we were nervous because we were not sure if he will be allowed in there with me or not.

Our feild office is Orlando, Fl office.

My husband was not only allowed inside the building, but he was required to attend the interview.  We did a combo interview.

The officer started with the I-751 first and said she can't work on the N400 until after she is done with the I-751.  So she requested our 2021 taxes (which we submitted with N400) she didn't have them but luckily I had copies of everything. So I gave her both 2022 and 2021 taxes. She then asked if we want to submit any updated evidence. Like insurance cards or pictures which we did. (We don't pay rent or mortgage, she asked about those as well but they were not applicable for us).

She had small conversation and we let her know that we just celebrated our 5 years wedding anniversary (4/16). And that we had the week off and we were going to travel but we had to cancel because of the interview. Then she said the I-751 was approved.  She looked at my husband and told him to stay silent and asked me if I am ready. She asked the civics questions then reading and writing. She then updated my case, because I changed my work address and received a traffic ticket. I showed her the ticket and the receipt that I paid the ticket.  She asked more details about it. She asked me questions from the N400 application as well. Then she said I was approved and to wait for the ceremony.  She gave me the paper that says approved.

Our interview was at 12:45 pm. And we waited until 3pm for the ceremony.  And now I am an American!!

Civics questions:

Which ocean is on the east coast?

What did Susan B Anthony do?

What is the capital of your state?

In 1803 which territory did the US buy from France?

When do we celebrate independence day?

What is one right that is only for US citizens?

Reading sentence:

What state has the most people?

Writing sentence:

California has the most people.

Good luck for everyone else! And make sure you take your spouses with you.

Congratulations!

It is interesting that you were sent to the MSC.  There are a lot of people on here that say you get sent to the closest service center.  Thus, most Florida cases end up in death row Potomac.  Yet, yours was at MSC.

Thank you for sharing the feedback.
