November 2021 ROC Filers

I have USPS delivery confirmation of my ROC packet Nov 2nd, but still no confirmation text from USCIS and my card hasn't been charged. I know they're backlogged but this feels like too long. Is there any way I can follow up with them when I don't have the case number yet?

Also, what does it look like when they reject a filing for whatever reason? Do I still get a text/email notification? (I included the notification form in the packet.) USCIS has failed to update my address after I moved despite me telling them about it twice (three times if you count the ROC form) so I'm slightly worried if it's just a mailed notice it'll go to somewhere I haven't lived for over a year.

Have you signed up for USPS forwarding and informed delivery when you moved?

Your address update shouldn't affect getting the credit card charged or the notification.

10 days isn't very long I would say. For AoS I got the notification about 4 weeks after the delivery time.  I would give it at least a month total before (including the 10 days already gone) before worrying.

Text/email notification or NOA-1? I know the formal paper notification will take weeks, I just want to be sure my application is in the system.

Bonus deadline: my GC expires on the 19th, that's why I'm so antsy about getting confirmation. If it got lost or rejected for some reason, life will be so much easier if I can get the resubmission in before the deadline.

I did for the first year, but then it expired.

Text/email notification took about 4 weeks. The NOA took longer.  If your GC expires in about a week, then yeah I can understand the anxiety.

This is reassuring though; my AOS notification was super quick, and I'm seeing people even in this thread get notifications after a few days, so I didn't know what the tail of the distribution looked like. But if several weeks is possible (albeit uncommon), I can argue down the anxiety for a bit longer.

(I have proof of delivery weeks before the deadline, I have proof I submitted the change of address form last year... I probably can argue USCIS into accepting my application after the 19th if they've screwed up, I just really really don't want to have to.)

USPS was great to use… my package arrived in two days. I used a priority mail flat-rate medium box, it was just over $16 total and comes with insurance and tracking. If you’re willing to change the address on your documents, I recommend USPS!
