I-864 expired 09/30/2021 and no option to change number of household

Are you guys dealing with the same problem as me and how to solve it.. First of all, when I downloaded the file I-864, I noticed that the actual form is expired (09/30/2021). And the other important thing as well, on some of the lines, I can not even type.. It stays blank without option to type.. it does not allow me to type the employer name and my job as well.

Other confusing thing is that on the part 4 when you need to put the number of household- the total number of household is autogenerated to number 1 and it can not be changed.

Please share any advice on how to solve this huge issue..?

Thanks

per USCIS form updates  there have been no changes to the i-864,  the expiration date is internal to the government.    Highly recommend to use Adobe Reader to edit the PDF.   And read the form and associated instructions fully and  literally.

1.  The expiration date is not what you think it is.  The latest version is the one you can download from USCIS.

2.  You can always download a blank form and fill it in with a pen...then scan it back in.

Thank you Troy for your reply- My question is: Am I allowed to e- sign the document or do I have to print the I-864 and hand sign after? And the confusing part of the I-864? I am sponsoring my husband- what do I need to type on Part 5 (sponsor's household size)- the total household size on number 8 is autogenerated with number 1 and can not be changed.

Thanks

I would download and print the blank form.   I would use white-out to correct the household size.  I would scan the completed document. I would hand-sign the document.  Do not e-sign.

Are you filling the form on the web? If you first download the form and open it with Adobe acrobat reader and start filling in, the total household size will autoupdate if you have filled the previous sections correctly.

I just did that- thank you.

I have one last question that confuses me- all three most recent tax refunds that we need to attach. The third one was from 2018 when I was married with my ex husband ( he was working for that year, and I was not)- but because we were still together we filled joint and our total income was 40k. Do I need to put 40k for that year even though I was not working but we filed joint? Or how is that working..

I had the same problem and tried everything that was suggested to correct it. In the end, I printed the form and just wrote in the correct number over the autogenerated number, then in Part 9, Additional Info, I gave an explanation. My packet was accepted with no RFE's.

Downloading and properly completing the form using Adobe reader IS the solution.  Don't worry about the 1.  It will properly calculate actual household size once you properly complete the form.  If it doesn't, then it's probably something YOU are doing wrong.  Common mistakes are to fail to enter the number of people being sponsored (1) in the case of a spouse.  Second common mistake for a spouse form is to enter 1 again for the spouse, counting them twice.  Don't enter a spouse if the person being sponsored is the spouse.  This instruction is right there on the form.

The 1 is automatically populated as YOURSELF.  YOU are part of your household size.  Then until you complete the form correctly, the total family size will appear as 1 also.  That will change as you correctly complete the form.

Thank you so much!

One more confusion- I am planning to upload two versions of I-864. One printed and hand-signed and the other with the electronic signature. I am still waiting on some of the documents- so mu question is, can I submit the Forms and all the documents I have now- and then after I get the other documents ( probably by the middle of this week ) to upload them after? Cause I am kinda scared and I think if I submit something now that I wont be able to change or re-upload or submit more documents afterwards...
