but my interview was 3 weeks ago. I had soon much ready and they only asked for my marriage certificate, my police check, my birth certificate, my passport and my photo! 

It's better to be over prepared than under prepared for sure!! 

Thanks, has anyone changed sponsor to their spouse at the interview stage? At NVC we only showed assets because my wife did not have income. But she has been working a job last 3 months. We have job offer letter and paystubs for that period (no tax returns). Is this sufficient or should be also add our assets? We have no one there who can be our joint sponsor. Thanks!

Go to the timeline from visa journey and you can kind of find out from previous DQ's  from other applicants. I notice you are registered on the google spread sheet. Check it out.  Please see link below. I would guess you will have your interview between 115 to 140 days from Document qualified.. I hope this helps.

You need to email @Hawk Riders   and tell him to load the info on the spreadsheet. We cant do this yourself. Please also go to tab DQ2022 on spreadsheet to see other applicants information for 2022 and your info.

Not sure what you are asking with your question.  When applying for a visa, either IR-1 or CR-1, the US citizen spouse is always the main sponsor.  Even if you add joint sponsors or use assets, the spouse remains the main sponsor.  Your spouse as the main sponsor doesn't change regardless of changing financial situations.

My question is my wife has not filed taxes for the last 3 years since she had no income. However she has been working for the last 3 months in the US and has paystubs/job offer letter for that time. Is that sufficient documentation for I-864 or is it likely they may ask for assets/joint sponsor? At the NVC stage we only showed assets and we don't have a joint sponsor. But I believe Montreal is more strict about spouse moving back and working. We also have rental lease, bank statements, IRA accounts, voting history and kid's kindergarten application.

 

I'm thinking of taking 2 copies of I-864, one with just her income and one with income + assets if they ask for it. Her income is comfortably above the threshold, just the fact that we don't have tax returns for the last 3 years.

My case is a little bit different, but I'll share my experience nonetheless! I am preparing for my interview and before I got DQ'd at the NVC we had submitted my sponsor's tax returns for the past three years, but his most recent tax return was filed as zero dollars because he lived with me in Canada for that tax year and did not work or make any income. He moved back to the US and only began working four months before we had to submit our documents to the NVC. His income was above the poverty guidline, so we did not add a joint sponsor at the time, we just submitted a written explanation of why he made no income for the most recent tax year, along with his paystubs, an offer letter, and his current lease to further prove he's domiciled in the US again. They did accept the documents and they did DQ us, but they also notified us that my sponsor did not meet the income requirements and that I should have a joint sponsor prepared for my interview where the officer will make their final decision. Even though his income was above the poverty limit, I guess the fact that he had a large gap in work/income history prompted them to recommend a joint sponsor. We did not use assets, so maybe having income plus assets will be enough, but if you can in any way find someone willing to be a joint sponsor as a backup it would be the safest option. Still trying to navigate this forum...hopefully this is posting correctly?

 

My interview was on November 14th at 8:00am - I was approved pending medical.  I had my medical appointment over a week in advance but there was an issue with getting the X-Ray back so my medical wasn't received by the consulate until November 15th am.  The consulate officer told me that if my medical was received in short order that it wouldn't put me behind at all and that my passport should be mailed on that Friday.  I now know from reading these forums that it was a blatant lie.  There was an update to my file on November 15th and November 22nd.

 

It is now December 2nd and I'm still 'refused' in the CEAC portal which means at best my passport will go out next Friday (4 weeks post interview).  I am posting this because this forum has been so helpful for me trying to get answers since the consulate seems to have a problem giving people any information while their lives hang in the balance.  When I went for my interview there were 15 windows and only 3 seemed operational.  Obviously there is a staffing problem! This is beyond infuriating knowing that if the doctor's office hadn't messed up, I would probably be with my hubby in the US by now!  

 

This is my story and I will update regularly in hopes of helping some other poor soul in this situation find peace.  My in laws are pretty heavily involved in politics in VA.  I have my father in law reaching out to his congress person today and he will escalate this to the Governor if need be.  This is not acceptable to hold onto people's passports (from another country - in my case Canada) for this length of time with no communication.  I have clients in the US and my hubby and I are seeing a fertility specialist in NYC so this is beyond maddening as I'm sure it is for all of us here in this situation. 

 

My lawyer doesn't at all seemed phased by this and told me that I should be getting my passport back soon since they haven't asked for any additional info. 

 

I have been in this process since late 2019 and to have this delay at the end is maddening.  I will update here as Montreal updates me at their glacial pace!

Hello all, I had my interview on Friday 12/2 and status changed to "Issued" same day. How long does it take on average to get the tracking number after visa is issued? I opted for home delivery via Purolator. Thanks!

You should get the tracking number by Wednesday the latest. Delivery by Friday/Monday.

How do I check the status after my interview? I just had mine this morning and was given the verbal approval but want to see where I can check the official status. I don’t see any status on my ceac portal. Please advise, thanks!
